It'd be ridiculous if the final boss was permadeath, honestly, and I think the devs know that. But my brain just likes absolute certainty.

Also I honestly had a very strong feeling that I knew who the final boss was. It just seemed that way pretty shortly after the game began. So this isn't as much of a spoiler, as much as merely a confirmation of what I was pretty sure I knew
I had a strong feeling about what that implied, but I am glad that I was still able to see the ending, how it plays out and how it presents itself, without knowing what it would all look like.
