Linux support?
Another great-looking game published by Devolver, so the usual question; will it support Linux at some point? :)

well, proton is a massive and horrible kludge (microsoft grade), and I was wondering if a lean wine win64/vulkan stack can make it work since it is unity on doz.
It is a matter of dependencies I think.

I haven't compared the actual size, but you could try Bottles as a middle-ground for making things more lean. Certainly not as lean as manually fine tuning a stack but most certainly faster and I'd imagine leaner than Proton?

I am happy to report that Cult of the Lamb works on Steam Deck!:heart_eyes_yeti:

Excellent news.

I'm wondering why Steam says the game works on MacOS but why it wouldn't work on Linux. What does MacOS as a (admittedly far) Unix descendant has that Linux doesn't offer?

+1 for Linux support! I'd be content with running it through Proton if it worked perfectly. However, like others reported, it has a 90% chance of crashing if I unfocus the window,

I'm playing Cult of the Lamb on Ubuntu 22.04 (with
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
launch command to avoid a crash at the beginning). A lot of linux users are playing too: https://www.protondb.com/app/1313140

How did you download the game from Steam on Linux? The Steam client won't let me I think

I can confirm that with an AMD card you do not need to use the `PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%` launch command.

It just works out of the box flawlessly so far (7 hours in) with Proton and a PS5 controller.

Let's hope future updated won't break Proton!

Do video cutscenes work? Like the Devolver logo on startup. For me that works only with WINED3D.

Yes it does.
I'm using Debian testing with KDE.

Do note, after ~9h in, when I upgraded the cult shrine to level 3, I saw the animation where your flock is upgrading it, but then it gets stuck there, with your guys constantly hammering the statue.
It maybe a cross-platform bug though.
I had to alt+f4 to quit the game. I'm hoping the save did not get corrupted!

EDIT: It did not corrupt it ;)
