Bug Chapter 2

I don't know if it's due to new patch (I just installed the game), but I'm on chapter 2 with Emily, when I have to take the second puzzle piece into the well. I saved my party just at this point (no saves before this)
I have already put the extension pipe and just have to turn the valve.
It's ok then, but when I go back to the well, the water don't lift up and I can't take the puzzle.
(I already seen video on YT, and I did exactly the same things).

I also encountered a game-breaking bug (as Carnby), where the zipline cutscene does not trigger after using the "tough cloth" on the oil rig. The item just disappeared and he still stood on top of the oil rig with no way to proceed. Reloading a save, even one before going to the Hateful Mound does not resolve this problem. I could try to restart the chapter or start a new game, but I'll just set this game aside and wait for a patch.

Zipline not working for me too.

Disappointing fix for this is the start a new game, start from scratch. Now I am at Chapter 4, no game breaking bug encountered so far.

Strange, as I was already on a new game on PS5 and it happened. So, if I start a fresh game I won't encounter the bug again?

I'm having the same problem. I'm going to restart the whole game. Not sure it's going to work.

These issues should only occur when using a savegame from before the patch. Any playthrough started after the patch should be fine. I have updated the back-up save files on the Google Drive to be on the latest version, so if anybody is still stuck with this bug, feel free to use a save game from the corresponding playthrough (depending on whether you already did a playthrough as the other character or not):

Specifically, any save with number 2-2_TheHatefulMound in it is from the beginning of the oil rig level.

Same issue... Is not going to be solve? I am pretty annoyed by the idea of having to start a new game.

Same problem on PS5 (in 2024, July !) due to an incompatibility with save game files between patches. After deleting all of them from the in-game menu and starting a new game, it finally works.

This bug still exists almost a year later. What the actual hell.
