New patch

Finally we can have the platinum of this game ! Thanks to the dev for this big patch and for adding new game plus. We know the game didnt do well and we will surely never see a sequel but i need to say that alone in the dark was a pleasure to do, good story, good atmsophere, great art style. That's a shame that it didnt found its public.

With the latest patch I even got more stutters and freezes for several seconds/tens of seconds.
In the third chapter I see these problems now regularly.

Do you have the "Pre-load Shaders" option activated? I recommend to deactivate that , depending on your setup, it may introduce more stuttering

Well, this option was enabled. I will test tomorrow.
My setup is RTX 4090, 12900K, 48 GB ram

Yes, you just need to restart the game when you deactivate that option

I was hyped until I get to the part where you need to grab the cable in second Jeremy memory and it dont activate so I cant progress urgh! ( and I beat the game like 6 times before that patch )

I just got to this part too and I cannot grab the cable also. I never had any problem before and now it`s all fukced up.

It is nice that the patch has added in some requested features. It is however a shame that the game itself is now more broken, for me personally, than at launch, but with the added benefit of being able to cause more stutter on many setups by simply enabling shader compilation, which is funny when one considers that shader compilation is supposed to do the opposite. I can no longer get past the tower in chapter 2 because the option to use the cloth to traverse the zip wire doesn't do anything anymore lol.

That is strange. I've seen one other user report this issue, but I could not reproduce it myself. Have you tried verifying game files? (right click game in Steam > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files)

In the meantime, I'd recommend loading an earlier save or using one of the back-up saves from over here so you don't have to redo everything (if you only use the save_10.sav it will not influence your collectibles progress):

Sorry to hear that. Please see my last post just above this one for how to proceed. I will also mention this issue to production myself, but without affected saves, such issues can be hard to track down.

Indeed, for anyone hoping this new patch will address the stutters and has those options that were introduced in the 1.04 patch enabled, I'd say not to bother. Disappointing as obviously a lot of work went into this patch in other areas.

Baught and launched the Game yesterday. First it was a huge disappointment: blurry with slutters. Then I downloaded the new patch for nvidia drivers (mine was a few weeks old) and woah 😳.

Cinematic options. Pre-load shaders.
Runs great.

Loving it. Full weekend on it.
Reminds me of the sinking city in some way: the noir feeling and music.

So, you've just updated the NVidia drivers and activated the "Pre-load shaders"?
