Because "Alone In The Dark" is not meant to be taken literally. The title actually refers to how you need to investigate things and solve puzzles in order to unravel whatever's going on with the plot of the game... At every Alone In The Dark game, you are always a detective sent to investigate some supernatural occurence, and you have no idea what the hell is going on until you play the game and investigate the matter further... So, you need to play these games with a "i'm completely in the dark about what the heck is going on here" kind of approach
You were never alone and there was never any dark because everything was on fire lmao
OMG, "Dark" refers to the darkness of fear related to the Lovecraft myths. Like "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth". I hope you were joking. XD
And he's right. The title loses its essence if the house is full of people. Alone is just that, alone. Not Alone with a girl, the maid and anyone else who happens to be walking around.
But hey, it's a Double A reinterpretation, where they preferred to spend a LOT of money hiring two actors that nobody had asked for, instead of investing it in a decent gunplay, graphics and optimisation. Another missed opportunity, and what about the price? Triple A price with Double A quality. Wonderful. :D
