Are you not able to fight the army in every district on the map?
Cheers!
Also note: It seems that this option will grey out again if you look at a couple of areas before launching a mission. For me I had to prepare all my creatures, scout out & decide where I wanted to attack, save, then exit and load 1-2 times, then finally go to the area and hastily undertake the now not-grayed-out mission to Fight The Military.
Note Note: Reloading the game often resulted in all glass containers randomly changing size, as well as various legs I surgically attached to my creatures to unattach, and float in the holding tank with the creature. Its annoying, but for whatever reason the lack of BOTH LEGS didn't seem to hinder my creature's performance any under having default legs, so... yeah, i guess they are super adept at crawling and/or hand-stands?
