Trade between my primary town and a colony
I clearly don't understand what is available in creating the proper transport (sale/buy?) between my town and port colony. I tried going back over prior discussions but got lost in the "logistics" issue. I have not "researched" logistics as I had done so in a prior attempt at the game and couldn't figure it out. So... I have primary town and colony, I have "bought" medicine, tools, and bricks "for" my colony which I think comes from my main town. (Have trading port separate) I have "sold" for my main town fish, fruit etc. I have a little ship that goes from one of my trading ports in main town to colony and back but usually to my town empty and then to colony with very little of what I think I am "selling/buying".
As can be seen, I haven't a clue as to what I am doing. Would someone give me some guidance. You may have to keep the words (ideas) to one syllable but any help is appreciated.

Port colony can receive resources from your main town and your main town can also receive resources from colonies. All you have to do is increase the amount of resources from either main town or colony for them to receive or I. Other words exchange resources. If both your colony or main town have less resources than you wanted to request, the ships or horse might just bring little bit to nothing.

For port colony you don’t need logistics hub unless if your port colony is not too far from your main town you can also make logistics hub so you can have more types of resources to exchange. But logistics hub need inter-city connection, while port colony don’t need except if you want to exchange resources thru inter city roads.

Thanks for your quick reply, buds. Do I set "trade offer" in my city to buy "x" number when price is "under" and set my "trade offer" in my colony to "x" number when price is "over" to get colony to send me the goods I want from the colony to my city and vice-versa?? Colony appears to have oranges that I want in city but I can't figure out why they aren't sending. I don't see how the "under/over" price thing works because it can't be both.

There’s no buy/sell when it comes to main town and your colonies, only exchange. You don’t need that main town buying if selling . That’s only needed on multiplayer if your friends can set inter city connection .

It’s in your logistics hub or Pitt hub that you set only 4 types of resources.

If your main town needs certain oranges you need to set your port hub in your main town to higher than your stockpile. Your trading ports won’t receive any from your Pitt colony, only your main town port hub can get resources from your port colony.

Can you trade between your main and the ai?

I have a trade agreement. The intercity trade building. Built the intercity road between the two towns (i think i did it correct as has to go over some old roads to get to my town hall). But the the ai town does not appear in the town drop down menu in the intercity trade building.

Not sure what is up?

What building do you set in your main city and in the port colony so they will send back and forth?

Someone also said "All you have to do is increase the amount of resources from either main town or colony for them to receive or I." Where do you go to do this?

I figured it out. You need to build an "Intercity Logistics Port"

Hi! I was looking for an answer to this since I was not sure if my Intercity logistic port was working, turns out it needs a regular Trading Port and resources will be picked up here first. Note that the travel distance via water is important, make sure that the shortest path is not arround the continent XD.
You will need a trading port at your colony and IntLogPort at your main town if you wish to send resources to your main town as well

To tell the truth the problem of the logistic port is that it indicates the new city X and the mother city A and vice and verca, indicating that the exchange is possible but does not send anything because the city is too far by sea. for the AI (see impossible) and can't find the way on an average map, so I imagine on a large map ^^

As a result, you have to go through several new towns spaced roughly 150 tiles, BCDEF or + up to X, with a land logistics hub, to send from A to X, tedious !!
but it works i tested, A drop off at B, B drop off at C ect ... on condition that the quantity is available
(note : in addition, caravanners need food , entertainment and may be ill)

And X who has a port must build a land Hub! too expensive
the concern is that a logistics port is not a land logistics hub ,we need build new
So it's too complicated, you might as well buy a commercial port
Devs possible solution: simulate the journey instead of seeing it when the path is too long (with a countdown)instead of a visual vessel

I'm having some trouble with the Port Colony too atm. The closest province with oil to my main town was a tiny island province. The island colony does not want to receive goods from my main town, but my main town can receive goods from the port colony. If it can go one way, why can't it go the other way?

You need to set up an intercity logistics port in the colony too.

It comes with an Intercity Logistics Port. But I also tried building one at the closest point to mainland. I was still just able to take goods from the colony, not send any back. 😅
