Curious about the ferry ...
I'm in the Middle Ages and purchased a small area of land along the coast to build a Fort. When I bought the land I got a message saying I now have a ferry which my people can use. The card which appeared was for a Port Colony. I sold the card for 20,000 coin, since I don't need it.

But, what of the ferry? It seems to be a good idea ...

[edit] I just found the ferry.

The ferry allows you to go across smaller lakes with your people. It is to handle connections that are larger than a river. It is actually pretty neat to see a bunch of them crossing lakes. My wife had one in our last play through and it looked like there would be a traffic jam out there!

To use the ferry, 2 owned-provinces are needed. I don't know how far the ferry will stretch, though.
