Do you have to defend your town or can you raid other towns? It's not clear from the description

You need to acquire military units through cards, just like you do with buildings. Unlike buildings, military units can be bought at your Town Hall. Once you can spend three points on military units, the Raid card becomes available. You need this card in order to raid
city states and provinces of other kingdoms. Just select the card after you bought it and then select the target province. A window then pops up allowing you to select which military units you wish to deploy to initiate the raid. Hope this helps.

I never had to defend myself from other kingdoms so I don't know how such event unfolds.

Ok cool. Just felt that was a pretty important aspect of a kingdom builder and wanted to make sure it was part of the game. Thanks for the info
