Does copying a building not cost any cards, even a Wild Card?
That makes the card system kind of obsolete. Certainly im missing something here..

It still costs gold, and you still need the card to setup the first building, but otherwise yes, the card system does become obsolete after you've got at least one of every building you are going to use.

Bummer! I really liked the card sytem and managing the deck thinking i had limited build options. This seems like a horrible design decision and such an obvious thing to fix.

In my opinion there should at least be like a 'Cardcore' setting in the game options where you really have to play the deck. No buildings gifted through copying, no money back for selling cards and no cards back from destroying buildings.

I created a second colony and was unable to copy buildings between the two colonies. Needed the cards to build in the new colony.

But you can copy, place, and then instantly delete to get a card back. So the card system doesn't matter except for getting your first copy of the card. An easy fix is make copying take a wildcard.

I don't mind it as it is, but I'm not really a fan of the card system. I suspect there will be some changes to it in the future

I would add that as an option in the pregame set up just a checkbox for "Make copy building require a wildcard" that way if you like it the way it is you can leave it uncheck and if u feel like its a bit to unbalanced you can make it need a wild card to use

This is a solid solution. Outside of the first hour, I'm only using wild cards then just copying buildings, but I will end up with a large stack of wild cards that just sit there, building and building, with only a rare use for the first of a new building before I just copy it.

Having it as an option, makes it the best solution because its an option, A might prefer things this way, B might hate it, but if everyone is C then everyone can be satisfied.

They defeated the WHOLE purpose of the game by bringing the copy feature. This is like pre-selecting which items you want to drop before you go into a dungeon in Diablo or something. Most ridiculous update I have ever seen.

Yeah it really ruined the card system.
Honestly even the wild card kinda ruins it, since you get them for free once you bank up 5 card sets, I rarely use the actual offerings. I mostly just use it to get the action cards like kidnap, immigration, buy wood and steal.

It definitely ruined the card system for me, which was the whole reason why I got the game as it made it unique and far more interesting to me. Kinda annoying how the main selling point of the game (at least for me) became obsolete

I watched a lets play and they said that the card system would later become obsolete. I couldn't believe it because it's a unique feature of the game. Now I read it here too. It's a shame, it seems very messed up. I'll have a look at it when there's a rework

card system is just poop. Essentially at one point you want to expand and to press next like a slot machine is just icky

This game was advertised with the card system, I bought it because it had a card system and was unique. There's plenty of city building games out there without card systems.

I dont know why the copy button wasnt made an optional feature. On game startup have 3 options - no copy button, copy but with using a wildcard, copy as it is now. Some people like the card system, others dont, so just let everyone play the way they want. It's not like we're early in development where maintaining multiple concurrent playstyles would be a headache.

Same with the breeder system for crops. I'd appreciate the option of having luxury crop fertilities limited to specific areas of the map.
