Right now you can only build a city on one landmass (unless you make a very long bridge).
You can claim provinces oversea and build colony to get some extra resources, but you will not be able to move your citizens there yet.
In the future, being able to control multiple minor city is planned.
Hope this helps :)
Edit: I conquered the other territory and was able to build a bridge but it wouldn't allow me to build a diagonal bridge, only horizontal or vertical.
My bridge was 48 units long.
Hope this helps someone.
So its impossible to get certain resources? because the further away i build from my city the buggy the game gets, as in it takes a very long time before they even build a building or anything. and you can't make a bridge that long to go overseas as well.
You can acquire any resources through Trading Post/Port/Company :)
Other than that, later in the game, you will unlock Colony (Building).
Colony can be placed on a resource node anywhere including across the ocean.
Colony provides the resources from that node every once in a while without any need for worker.
Hope that helps!
Alright, Thanks for that.
However if there are resources on the same landmass but a few territories away (about 6) from the starting location, my people already have issues building buildings. even tho i had 22 builders and 22 labors. it took them several ingame years to build 1 building.
I will be addressing these kind of issues soon with ways to set up minor towns and build in a more decentralized way :)
Thanks for the info :)
