the plebs spend 90% of theyre life running around like headless chikens never actually doing theyre jobs.this becomes apparent the wider and larger your city grows because as your city grows the plebs spend more time walking around like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then actually doing theyre job when the city is small and thres few jobs its not a problem but as soon as you grow the size of city the productivity actually falls to the ground.you can test this make 8 bakerys on one end of your city and another 8 at the other end you will se that your are making as much with 16 bakerys as with 8.
The only way to maintain some sanity is to super centralize every production so that all your houses form a circle around all your production and have all the storages in the direct center of your city such that they dont do the usless job of hauling things from one end to the other of the city.if your city is a square and not a rectangle shpae you will be fine generarly,as long as you dont exceed 400 pop.
And probably the most important thing is to have dedicated storages for everything you produce
I have had issues but found a work around. It takes time but if you make a storage or warehouse near your production and don't allow the produced goods. Then set the manufacturing place to set its delivery to that destination. It will deliver it there but since it is not allowed a laborer will pick it up and move it to a location that allows it. I have brick and pottery production in a group and its far from my main city. This is the only way I see it effectively move.
I have buildings at some distance. All wood was transported and some stone. Then they stopped moving stone. I tried to build logistics office and a storage at half way. But they do not deliver any stone.
Also tried to deconstuct buildings and build them again. But they transport only wood and no stone.
Just to be sure, did you check that your quarry is actually still producing stone? They can run out and stop after all.
I also tried placing a storage yard near the market and that seems to make it more flexible SOMETIMES. Also, having stable supplies seem to help, like if you're trying to deliver medicine, you shouldn't be exporting it or else that will disrupt the supply and the timer starts all over again with the invisible deliveries of 50 bulk.
Try other ways, and let me know what you find out. It's definitely finicky and buggy so you gotta play around with it a bit unfortunately.
UPDATE: OK So for logistics office, I noticed one of mine was not delivering (others were doing OK), and after an hour of frustratingly testing out all possibilities, I finally got it to work. I had to demolish the storage yard that was connected to it that didn't have item I was requesting (I had total 3 storage yards near it where it was connected to automatically) . Apparently, it got stuck trying to get my meds from that yard and didn't go further. DEVS PLEASE TRY TO FIX THIS.
So the moral of the story for now is, try to make your logistics as simple as possible with no combo of anything not matching or else it will get stuck. The 3 choices for items you want to deliver also matter. You should not leave "none" on any of them. Make selection of all 3 even if they are all the same. So all needs to match:
Storage Yard/Warehouse > 3 choices of item you want to deliver > target storage (needs to not have any items allowed that you're not try to deliver). This is the only workaround for now until the next update. AGAIN DEVS PLEASE CHECK THIS AND TRY TO FIX.
