How does this compare to Grid 2019?
Was just curious about what the most noticeable differences are between this game and it's 2019 predecessor?

Would you say that these new race courses are MORE fun than the old ones, or no?

Overall which in your opinion is just more fun to play?

I love both. If you like either one, you will love the other one.

Whats so good about the Deluxe edition? Does it give you content that's important like good tracks that are not available in the base game?

2019 was okay, but i fell in love for legends i need to say.. i played both 100% throuh. overall i think legends was much better. i only started playing 2019 after legends.. so it might be i exspected more of 2019 so. dunno. if you get in on sale and liked or loved 2019 you will not be dissapointed in this one aswell =)

I bought base game. After a while, I want the full game. Unfortunately, there is no discount when I want to buy. Regretted not buying deluxe when its on sale.

Again Ill ask, what is it about the Deluxe that you regret not having? When I looked on the steam sales page and read what it tells you under the Deluxe dlc it really is only very vague information and doesnt tell you specifically what you get thats extra...no track or course names, etc....and I could care less about more story stuff since its a race game.

oh yea well now that you put it that way its no wonder why the dlc is worth it! <eyes rolled back into head>

...so umm, until someone can express real reasons why the dlc is so worth it, I'll just be sticking with the base game for $6, heh.

DLC include new Story Seasons (if for whatever reason you want to play Story), a very good number of new cars, Mechanic Pass which cuts grind roughly in half, new tracks and locations, Derby game mode and collection of cars for it, Endurance mode, multiple new Career events, Liveries and playercards, point-to-point Drift Routes at Okutama.

Honestly, if you buy basic edition, you basically have a game with 2/4 of content and a lot of grind for upgrades.

Counted it for you:
Total DLC cars - 27
Total DLC tracks and layouts - 12
New Career Events - 12
New Story Seasons (35 events total) - 4

Thank you for the details.
For me, I want to continue the story mode.
I also wants to race on discipline that I like. Already completed all the discipline that I like in base game. (I love GT3 btw)

What really happen to me was, when I bought the game, I was hooked. I race until I completed the story mode, completed all the discipline that I like and when all is done, it was not enough and I want more. Thats why I want the DLC. Dont really know whats inside the DLC (other than the continuation of the story mode), I just want more. Hope this answer your questions.

BTW, if you love this, try getting Forza Motorsport 7 if you can (it has been delisted).

I bought the base game for only $5.99 on sale since it's cheap enough where if I ended up liking it there's still enough time left on sale that I could just spend the extra $20 to upgrade for the dlc.

I'm glad I didn't yet, though. It's a fine arcade racer. I dunno about story mode, but otherwise it's a bit like playing Automobilista2 except with extremely forgiving physics and you need to save your money earned from races to unlock all the content that would typically come unlocked already in Automobilista2. So then maybe a more fair comparison would be Forza Motorsport but with very easy car handling physics.

I think the physics and AI are a little TOO easy, and one other thing I do not like is that there is no practice sessions for each circuit. When each session begins you actually start out racing, with no practice time available, which sucks if you aren't already familiar with some of the circuits...but I guess it's just so easy and forgiving that it doesnt make THAT much difference as far as winning money. You still win, which is what makes this game so arcade-like. I guess MP would be more challenging, but at my age I don't play competitively anymore and so I prefer to play against the AI.

Anyway...this is a very good game for someone who is very new to the racing genre and wants to be entertained without feeling incompetent, or needing to deal with lots of car setup work that's often involved in race sims. The racing is easy but it's fun starting in last place and working your way up to the front and winning which, even for this old man, is very do-able.

But, for me, unless I change my mind as I keep playing some...I don't see wanting to put tons of hours into something like this as i see it as a diversion type game. So I think the base game will be more than enough for this purpose.

For anyone who's on the fence, you really can't go wrong here for just under $6 bucks, heh. You'll end up with more than enough fun for that amount of spending cash :-)

Wish I could say the same for that Dakar game, but after a short romp as a new player with only 75 minutes of play time I'm seriously considering returning that one for a refund because I'm hating the physics. Feels like you're skating on sand dunes in the snow, even though there's IS NO SNOW:-)

If you want some serious challenge i suggest getting original Racedriver: GRID and play it on max difficulty. It has the same arcade physics that forgive mistakes that IRL would be deadly, but AI is much more competent and sometimes even a little bit unfair. You probably can find first title on some abandonware sites. 2008 title is running circles around it sequels (both 2, Autosport, 2019 and this) and is considered to be one of the best simcades of all time.

2019 sucked imo, the OG Grid from 2007 is better. Legends has much more believable physics than both and has a real story mode or if you prefer a career mode too, the choice is yours, or you can do both. I finished the story then fired up the career mode to continue the fun. It is well optimized and runs smoothly.
