Also, origin's dead. EA app is the new shtick.
The game should start without it.
Alternatively, uninstall origin and install the EA App instead. Honestly it's basically just origin with a new coat of paint but that might work for you.
The weird thing is that it opens anything at all for you. I have the EA app installed but the game doesn't open it, it just runs straight through steam for me.
EDIT: On second thought, maybe your firewall is blocking something.
