Link EA account to Steam not working?

Hi, have tried multiple times without success to link EA to Steam. I can log into my origin account no problem. I can Run Grid Legends in Steam, I go to the link Account in game i get the pop up box that has the Origin log in. I put in my details and password. I get a sms to confirm its me 2FA. I confirm it no error messages it then go's back to the link EA account in game. It say's you must have a EA link to play online. thus the cycle repeats. I have 66 minutes in game just trying to sort this, really hoping someone might know what I can do to solve this, before I run out of time to refund the game. I just wanted to play online with mates really don't care for the single player. Cheers Sludge.

Edit.. When prompted to log into Origin the splash screen in game after it fails it say's "You require an active EA Account to play GRID Legends online" I only have one origin account and i have access to it. Is an "EA Account" different to an Origin account? Really wish this was made a bit clearer. Thanks again for reading. I feel like this will be a refund job at this point.

I am having issues with the account linking stuff too.

I purchased it from Steam and when I ran it after install, it didn't open EA launcher and isn't showing up in my EA library either. When I try to link via in game options, it's not working either. Nothing pops up upon selecting the account linking options.

Exact same here... Kinda makes me wonder why I even bought the game is this is what we have to deal with

Me too here, i bought it yesterday and can't seem to login to ea, so i can't play online
