A question regarding Ascetic Lifestyle

So uh. I cleared the quest, got the Holy Sword from Sadora, and immediately doubled back to grab some stuff.

I go back and Sadora, who didn't despawn(presumably because I didn't proceed past her), attacks me, despite me clearing the questline???

Does this mean I'm locked out of whatever ending finishing that quest would have given me?
