Randomized void challenger
I think the void challenger is a pretty cool mechanic, but the thing is that most of the time you'll be following the same pattern between each run of whether or not you activate it in each area. I feel that this could be resolved by having different randomized challenges (communicated to the player before they activate it) rather than only an extra boss, with some challenges maybe having differing rewards as well, and this would also just add some variety in general. Here's some ideas for alternate challenges
-So long as the boss has unprotected health and you're in the same area as them, you won't be able to leave until you deal enough damage.
-The boss regenerates health slowly over time, but this healing ramps up the longer you go without fighting them. They can also overheal (to avoid discouraging players from avoiding them altogether as soon as they spawn).
-Boss can invade safe areas and mini areas, as well as being more aggressive on lower difficulties so this actually matters.
