If you're right next to a beam and conga the turrets through the not-portal, you'll trade places (the beam will end up in the adjacent space on your other side) without it changing your color.
I wouldn't want to give it away. But basically you push back and forth on the top lane and bottom lane in a specific order. However, you will also notice there are a couple of extra empty tiles off the top and bottom rows of turrets that you can push a turret into to make extra room or to put you block into in order to move them back and forth.
Once you see that, you'll trial and error in order to move your block to the right without it or you being hit and changing. This part becomes a lot easier.
Once you can remove the other block, there is a final challenge in order to get your unchanged block onto the correct square (this bit took me the longest in trial and error).
Good luck!
Portal is a 3D first person game with very different physics based puzzles. This is not that.
