Bug - Bottle disappeared
I had a bottle, but it suddenly disappeared from my inventory when I used it.

They basically just expire. After one to four (or so) uses, the plastic bottle is discarded involuntarily by the player. It's a weird game mechanic, but this game is very weird.

Is there a durability meter or something?

No, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell. The other bottles do the same thing. There is a bigger white bottle that comes with acid, and a red tank thing that has gasoline. Both of those containers carry five times the amount, but disappear after the first or second reuse.
unfortunately it's intentional, given that there's an animation for when your container "breaks", but if it's meant to have durablility and break after some uses, i think it should have a proper breaking animation rather than the player character tossing away a perfectly usable container, it's kind of irritating. a durability meter would be pretty helpful too. but idk, i also think they just shouldn't break at all considering none of the tools have any durability to begin with

Totally agree. I suppose I'd suggest that the bottle drop less often, like a rare drop. Come to think of it, the plastic bag is a similar item. If the bottle moves liquid, and the bag moves solid, then they are at least the same type. Make them both rare (and reduce their rarity so people can find these items a little bit easier).
There's a lot of irritating things about this game. Everyone tries to use the realism argument for a game about a piss apocalypse. Just give us some traditional survival horror UI, nothing crazy but damn some more info would be insanely helpful, hell just put a guide book when i press B or J and have it contain every detail about everything i've discovered thus far.

It would be funny if the bottle breaking was your character just couldnt find the lid and just throws the bottle out because of it.
