There are few geysers located around the world, one of which erupts every 5 days. If you don't stop them by building a house tenting above them (or by using any other technique that's listed in the steam guide), they will increase the hazardous fog. You can locate them by following the sound.

Thanks for the reply, i have started over (on easy) and yet to find these geysers still, on day 2 now and i'm already getting the chainsaw guy, all all enemies coming to my house already and the air seems yellowish again even tho i have a vehicle to piss in so i dont have to inside house toilet since that seems to attract them. not complaining but even on Easy, its so damn hard to find these geysers and get enough materials to even build things like your guide shows (helpful guide ). will you add more options soon so we can set things like more drops, or less bad air speeds. i'm liking the game but so frustrating when i get around many areas to have a ton of mobs at my place i set as a base on day 2.

More yellow fog (yellowish air) causes spawn of more enemies & lots of other problems. Beware that driving vehicles with unpurified "piss" also spreads the fog. Basically when you see a small yellow cloud coming from something, it will increase the fog after reaching the sky. There are many ways to prevent the spread like biological toilet, house tenting built as a ceiling (prevents the yellow cloud from reaching the sky), burning the yellow clouds midair (with molotovs, etc.), you can also use an acid bottle to clean the toilets, etc.. You can't hear the geyser until the fifth day, it's okay to ignore them though, because they only increase the fog by 20-40%.

thanks! i did manage to find a few geysers, only thing is i'm not sure i blocked them right since i dont have many materials, what i did do was use one of the Tent pieces and angled it so that it;s blocking it on an angle.... (looks like a ramp since i only used one piece). it seemed to block it but its throwing dust sideways... not sure if that works but im trying :)

You can cover the big crack located in the dry lagoon with a wooden structure and 9 - 12 tarps in max size over the liquid urid. If you dont do it in 10 - 15 game days it erupts and will cause the doomsday.

The geyser is the entire area between the ship and the dry tree:

If your world is relatively clean the only enemies in this area can be grasshoppers, flying bugs and some piranhas easy to clean.

a bit of unintentional behavior: i've tented off a geyser. usually, when it erupts, i go take a look. my fog level does not increase much, if at all.

this last time, i did not go see it, at least until well after the eruption was over. my fog level shot from >10% to over 50%. there was very little accumulation on my tenting.

i suspect i have to get near enough to the geyser for my tenting to render in order for the fact the geyser is tented to register.

I think distance doesn't affect as long as the mouth is covered by a tarp roof. Make sure you have covered it completely and that it is not the big eruption of the lake geyser

i THINK i had just underestimated geyser number, and didnt really grasp the extent of (or lack of) the GPS coordinates used in the game.

The original position has changed. Before they were all in the initial part of the map, now there is one in each city. The least accessible is the Hazerville geyser, since you must go to the new area of the city. You can go to the villages and look for them before they erupt.

I think there are still 5 little ones. The only ones that maintain their location are the one in the skulls house and the lake crack.

i'm pretty sure what happened was this: for three cycles, only the closest geyser erupted, it's right in the front yard of the "backpack house." i did not have a GPS yet, so i had no reference to the scale of the coordinates used. i had not written down the coords for the "backpack house geyser." so, when the eruption warning showed me the same first two digits in the coords, i just assumed it was the same geyser, not knowing that the entire map has the same first two digits.

i've since managed to tent off most of the geysers on the map, with the notable exceptions of the hazerville pit, and the great piss lake geyser. about a quarter done with the construction on the latter.
