We're still fixing this up though, let me know what problems you run into, or if it just isn't working.
EDIT: Opened the game from big picture mode and changed my controller configs. Not sure which of the two did the trick at the moment but now I can see two distinct P1/P2 inputs (M+K/gamepad respectively).
EDIT 2: I'm using a PS4 Dualshock controller plugged in through a USB cable. I loaded the "Gamepad" controller config and it seems to be working fine EXCEPT that when I long press circle (for instance to fortify something by pressing "B", it opens the map. Long press is a bit of an exaggeration, any amount of a press other than a tap will cause it to open the map. I looked through the controller config settings but it doesn't look like there's a different setting for long presses so I'm a bit stumped.
I just started and am noticing some problems with the local multiplayer. When I start up the game, I can't choose whether each player uses mouse/keyboard or controller until I get in an actual game, and in order to do it in game, I find that I have to kick all players except for player one to do so. But, after they're kicked, I can't seem to add them back in to keep going. So, in order to pick up where we left off, I either have to use mouse/keyboard, which I don't like to use, or I have to continue in single player. In order to have all players on controllers, we have to start a whole new file, which is annoying. Not only that, but for some reason, windows 11 seems to have this annoying bug that minimizes any game I'm playing, and if/when that happens, the game crashes. It saves my data, thankfully, but since I can't pick up where I left off on all controllers, I either have to switch to mouse/keyboard, or start completely over.
For some reason using Remote Play and setting up the P1 and P2, it forces both players to use controllers, while keyboard controls isn't possible.
Some of the interaction context buttons on keyboard does not work, like 'fortifying' doors and garages.
I think the best way to fix the multiplayer issues would be to allow all players to assign their controllers to their characters the way that Death Road to Canada did, by letting all characters select their character in the pause menu, and to allow the player to rebind these and choose between mouse/keyboard or controller anytime, whether in the main menu or the pause menu. Additionally, it'd be best if each save file could remember each character and what they had, even when the players are signed out, that way players can come and go without losing progress or disrupting the flow of gameplay.
