Super dark
I recently got a new monitor and realized I had my old one's brightness turned way up and fixed it (everything looks WAY better) but i only now realize that this game is way to dark to reasonably play without turning my monitors brightness back up. my friends always complained about it being way to dark to see I just thought something was wrong with there setup...
Is there anyway to fix this? I have turned the games brightness up to 100% but it makes absolutely no difference, even with the flashlight or lantern I can't see all of two feet in front of me....

There is a semi fix to this if you want to shoot me a DM.

But honestly, I think the devs really need to add some more light sources to a couple of maps or at least give us an extra default item than the glowsticks that we can lay down in certain areas to illuminate the map. It is mostly just the Crypts that becomes borderline impossible to navigate for me and my friends.

If you switch to the public-testing branch, there are some lighting improvements (including an increase in the intensity of the flashlight) being tested, along with other improvements and fixes such as a movement speed increase for both players and monsters (scaled the same). All the feedback we've gotten from it so far has been pretty positive, but happy to hear your thoughts on it as well! If you're not sure how to access the public-testing branch:

Right click Labyrinthine in your Steam library and go to the Betas tab. In the drop-down menu select public_testing, then close the window. A code is not needed. A download will be available for you.

Anything earned on the public-testing branch carries over to the live branch, they use the same save file, so you won't lose any progress by participating.

Not OP here, but just wanted to comment that I appreciate this response. Is there anywhere better suited to providing feedback? My friend and I really do enjoy this game, but keep encountering little things that are making it difficult for us to keep going at times.

We read anything and everything posted here on the Steam forums, our official Discord, and the game's subreddit, as well as everything sent to us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, even YouTube comments :)

Depending on how much we've got on our plate at the time we aren't able to reply to everything, but we do actively read everything and will chat often during our daily dev calls about feedback we're seeing out in the wild or heard on various Twitch streams we visit. A lot of our recent updates as far as QOL changes and new features have been added based on feedback we've read around, such as some of these items that are currently being tested:

- Moderately increased speed for both players and monsters
- Higher intensity on the flashlight
- FOV slider has been added to the options
- Lighting has been improved in both Chapter 4 and the Case Files
- Performance tweaks for monster navigation in the case files

We've got a few more things coming that I can't speak on yet that have also been common requests, so keep an eye out for more!

But to summarize, feel free to give us feedback on anything you actively use! If I had to pick a "best" place, our official Discord's #suggestions-and-feedback channel would probably be the best spot. It's where we get most of our work done, so it's where we tend to be most active. If you're not in the Discord, there's a link to it on the game's main menu, and pinned at the top of this forum.

Much appreciated and will definitely consider joining if only to leave tidbits of feedback here and there.

Just to add to what Tanner said, we try be as active as possible with our discord community. I personally have all my notifications on for the valko discord so I go through pretty much every message on there, even if I don't respond.
