-When using my Sinden Lightgun's Border, it ended up covering the in-game subtitles so I couldn't see what the player characters were saying without disabling the border first.
-Right now the shot marker that shows where you're shooting only appears when it hits an object rather than appearing at a fixed distance like most light gun games. I bring this up since on the right path of Stage 2 where you fight the birds, since you're looking at the sky there is no background object meaning that missed shots don't render an effect. At first I almost thought there was an issue with my gun before realizing that's how the gunshot effects were rendered.
-There should be some kind of reload animation whenever you reload your gun (sort of like House of the Dead: Overkill, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, or Silent Hill: Arcade). I don't know if you plan on adding something like that for the full release, but in case you weren't I think it'd be a great addition to add, especially in Lightgun mode where the gun isn't displayed on the screen by default.
- I can look into this and see if there's a solution I can implement in the next hotfix. I know Sinden users can have varying border sizes so it may be tricky that gets a solution that works for everyone.
- The effects are always rendered but if nothing is hit along the gun's line trace which checks for targets, then an effect is rendered at the end of the trace, which is currently 5000 meters long. The issue is the effect size isn't constant, meaning you have a tiny effect 5000 meters in the distance. This is something I've overlooked but will be fixed in the next hotfix which will including a scaling material for the effect, giving it a constant screen size.
- Reload animations would be cool and it's on the long list of things to do, just a lot later in development.
I've tested this myself and have already found and fixed the problem. Will upload a fix later today.
Fix now live.
I would like to mention a few things that may not technically qualify as bugs, but more of a quality of life thing:
1. During animations in-game where you are not allowed to shoot (When the screen says "HOLD YOUR FIRE"), you can still hear the reload animation at any time, if you press the "reload" button. Not sure if actually reloads your gun or not, as I didn't wind up testing this.
2. Whenever I closed the game, when I restarted it, all my control settings, resolution, key bindings, etc were all reset back to default settings.
3. When at a path selection action in Co-op, when one player selects a direction, it would be nice if the player who is not choosing the path could see the direction they chose. If I am correct, the direction only lights up for the player choosing the path?
As a big House of The Dead fan, I look forward to future content! Keep up the great work!
1. If you click reload during those animations then the gun will reload and you will hear the sound. I'm still on the fence about being able to reload during those animations so I've left it in.
2. Make sure to click apply after changing the settings as that's when the game saves it all.
3. That's a good suggestion, I'll add that to the to-do list for the next update.
Thank you!
But there's a bug in the second level at the stairway where the camera points up at the ceiling and you can't shoot at the zombies that are attacking you. You take damage while you can do nothing about it. Hopefully it gets patched in the next update soon.
Anyway, keep up the good work!
Having the exact same issue. Invites not going through in either direction (him to me, or me to him). I opened port 7777 and we tried the direct connect and also no luck. Also verified windows firewall is allowing the executable.
