As the title says, how exactly is it supposed to get this achievement in particular?

Once you reach certain thresholds of money in the bank, people will show up to ask for charity. It seems like they can't show up if you have too little to give them. Basically just agree to give money to anyone who asks you. I got this on the Jisu route, but that may not be relevant. To be on the safe side, be kind to people who ask you for favors as well.
The best way to gain lots of money is simply to get your Reputations up very high by making correct appraisals. You'll get to a certain point where giving money away is irrelevant because you'll make it back so quickly.

I managed to get it by getting hacked twice & then donating 60% of the money to charity.
