name changed to origin id and not steam one. how to change it back?

You can't, it's just weird. My bf rarely sees my steam name when we play, as he is on Xbox. It doesn't really matter though since the game is technically trhough origin

Yes because you are playing through origin. Your origin name will always show. Not steam, you are able to change your origin name though

Mine shows my steam name, ive never seen my Origin name in game. My girlfriends shows her Origin name now, although a few days ago it was her steam name.

Yeah, mine was Steam, then origin for half a day, then back to Steam for a few days, then now it's been Origin since a day or two ago

My name changed to the Origin one after I revoked the trial, so that Steam only starts up the actual purchased game. Which sucks because I was happy for the game using my Steam name, and now I have to contend with EA restricting me to "Superscootr" because for some dumbass reason EA does not like the word "scooter".

During the free trial my game displayed my Steam name. I purchased and installed the regular version and it started showing my Origin name.

I was playing fine then the game suddenly decided to change my name to Origin ID which I don't like. Tried contacting them and they said they are addressing the issue and will fix it.

They fixed it now, so that you and others will see the Origin ID / Nickname.

Before, if you started Knockout City on Steam without Origin - the display name only for you would be your Steam name. Everyone else would still see your Origin name.

If you started Knockout City while Steam and Origin was running, the Origin name showed for you and others.


so tl:dr - your Steam name never showed for Opponents or Teammates... confirmed this with people playing with me.

People playing with me see my steam name, not my origin name, even though origin starts every time i start the game. True as recent as the day before yesterday, but i havent checked since

Entirely false, you could always tell when someone had their steam or origin name be used as their ko city username. All you have/had to do is check their profile on the matchmaking menu.

My username also changed to my origin one which makes it harder for me to use stupid one time names like I used to
