Dealing With the Plague
This is just my experience.
1. Prioritize the research tree so you can build herbalists (for towns) and hospitals (for cities); then build these buildings in your towns and cities.

2. When a newly-conquered town or city has the plague, I ban all the infected. This gives a huge happiness hit, but it doesn't last all that long.

3. When one of your armies gets the plague, transfer all the citizens to your nearest town/city. Some of the citizens you transfer will have the plague, so click on the city they were transferred to and ban the infected in that city. Then you can transfer the uninfected citizens back to your army.

4. Even with herbalists and hospitals in place in all your towns and cities, the plague will periodically appear. You can see how many are infected in the world view. (I always) pause the game and go to my national capitol, then click the arrow to bring up each town/city in succession. Any of them with infected citizens will have the option of banning those infected, or quarantining them (which I never do.)

Please share your experiences with the rest of us.

I guess nobody else has an;y experience dealing with the plague? Nobody even has any comments on my suggestions?

After I had enough income coming in that I didn't have to worry about the loss of tax income, I started quarantining the plague-infected cities, rather than banishing the affected. I *think* that quarantining the cities reduced the re-infection by quite a bit.
I quarantine my cities and got rid of the plague entirely from the UK, after a while they came back but I found it to be more effective. Unfortunately my vassals cities keep bringing the plague back to England.
