Oh god the intro never ends
First a long intro.
Then finally 3D rendering, oh wait, no, it's another intro, with a little bit of interaction.
Game yet?
Oh, no, it's more "intro", but a one on one dialogue.

Far, far too long to get to anything, and far too angsty.

Looks pretty though.

When the tutorial ends and you think you are FINALLY going to be allowed to do something, the demo ends. Immediately. And I have a feeling all that angst is going to continue into the game and I'm not interested. I was hoping for something relaxing. I took it off my wishlist.

I have to disagree. I felt that the intro justified its length, tone shifts, and moments of choice really well. Though, I am primarily interested in exploring this character and her relationship to her work, so that may be a part of my contentment. Sure, the dialogue is a bit cliche at times, but a few lines of heavy-handed dialogue never hurt me. The demo earned every tear it brought to my eye by the end.

I didn’t mind it, but I did feel it could be tightened up and told in half the time. Like, trauma, failure/redemption motivation, got it. I like storytelling and setup, but If I actually wanted a movie I wouldn’t turn on a game.

I also disagree. I tried way too many "cozy-likes" that start relying heavily on storytelling, without the story actually being interesting or of importance at all. Compared to those, I found the intro here to be actually somewhat shorter, but the writing is actually good, and the story being told matters. For a game that advertises itself as "narrative-centric", it delivers exactly that.
The demo left a lot to be desired - specifically: gameplay.
Art looks really good and the game gives off an overall cozy feel, but after the intro and a lot of dialogue boxes the demo fails to show more of the gameplay for the player to experience.

'Clap clap, let's get the tea shop started!' and then the demo ended. Man, what a disappointment.

It's more of an introduction to the game proper, than a demo of it. But what it does introduce very well, is the reduced pace of this game. I don't usually like fast-paced games, so to me it's a good "demo".
trust me, it will get interesting. It's going to get fun i swear

the demo was definitely over too quick the first playthrough I did, and was narrative-heavy.
but I ran it again and... in between the interactions with Boro? you can just... play the game. garden to your heart's content. make whatever tea you'd like. clean up the clearing. find stuff, do stuff - there's more you can do that I found but I'm not gonna spoil.
so yeah, it doesn't tell you this up front, but you can just experiment with it and enjoy some chill vibes, you don't have to blaze through the dialogue and tutorial. as Boro said, there is no rush.

haha I just closed the game because I got fed up with the intro, got into the forums and this is the first post I see.

But yeah, the game seems good but the intro felt like...a bit too much. I wasn't expecting that. Gonna try it again later.

Ngl i saw this game as more of an interactive story rather than a game. The intro was pretty long sure, but the story itself kept me from being bored or zoning out (cause the dialouge was written by the same person that wrote The Beginners Guide aka absolute peak).

This thread is making me lose interest on this game amazingly fast.
I couldn't agree more. They REALLY lost sight of the lengh of the intro. By the time you actually finish the tutorial and see ANOTHER CUTSCENE I'd think most people are ready to just alt+f4 the game

It's fun to see someone complaining about the intro length in a game with the obvious message of sitting back, relax and enjoy without rushing. I'm pretty sure you did not get that

Yeah it's a story based game. Once you know the pedigree of the devs it makes a lot more sense.

Just because something is meant to be relaxing and taken easy doesn't mean it have to be boring and uninteresting. Not saying it'll be the case for this game and to each their own, but too many cozy games get that wrong.
