Second meditation black screen
As the title says when I got to the second meditation I saw Alta running in the forest and when she starts to remember something my screen gets full black, I can't see the cutscene, only the words below of them talking, my game doesn't let me continue past that black screen. I tried everything related to drivers and didn't helped, uninstalled and installed game again and nothing, checked integrity and nothing, I don't want to lose my savefile :steamsad:

I have the same problem, didn't find a solution yet, so if you find something, let me know.

Same here, she was talking about meeting someone...... then it was just text... after that black screen and nothing happened... :steamsad:
Same for me, but on first meditation. Game crashed during the cutscene, now it loads straight to black screen each time.
Same issue.
I found a fix that works for me:
Locate your local save file, should be there:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\TheClearing\Saved\SaveGames

In my case, there was two save files, one looked like this:
76561198018453193_0.sav
The other like this:
76561198018453193_0[AUTO-SAVE].sav

In my case, the auto save one was older than the other one, so it was before the crash.
So I deleted the one with "_0.sav" and renamed the other one to have that name. Then im able to load into the game again.

Hope that helps some of you.

I think I have the same problem, I'm stuck on the black screen after the words bellow end and the music stops. The puffin auto-save icon appears (but it doesn't really save apparently). I save and quit but when I restart the game I'm back to the beginning of the meditation.

The fix proposed by toastbrott doesn't work for me.

I just solved it, for me what worked was going on Microsoft Store and installed the "VP9 Video Extensions" or the VP9 Codec for video that was missing from my Windows installation. Maybe that can solve your problem aswell

My windows doesn't have Microsoft so- I'm really hoping that the devs can work this out

Yes it does. Go to the microsoft store online, either download the app or you can get VP9 directly from the website.

I can't really, my windows is a modified version that doesn't have Microsoft and when I try to login into it on the website it says "too many requests" and it is like this for 3 months now since I gave my PC a full reset, the previous owner had installed Windows with Microsoft using a pendrive but I don't have it

Finally! Thank you! This worked! I had to use a winget command prompt to install it because the store download wasn’t working. FINALLY I can play the rest of the game! Yaaaaay!
