stuck on succubus form 2
so I beat the first phase of the succubus fight, second half keeps kicking my butt (and throwing swords in my face...) and I'm running out of money/subweapon charges but I can't LEAVE teh area to pick up more money, if I ran out completely am I screwed harder than MC is every time I fail again?

ouch i guess you dont have the timestopper as subweapon... also an earlier savepoint could do the trick if you have that.
if not then there isnt much to be done than doing the fight the hard way.
btw dont forget the monk heals you and the warrior help you attack her while trying to avoid geting hurt.
but yeah the sucubus second form can be tough if your out of options.

i usualy have around 2k money and stopwatch so i really dont have a challange with the boss.
i guess if you want i could folow your stream and we could try figure this one out together using discord or something. i realy cant give you any tips since i realy dont know how you preform or anything like how much life you have what companions you found sofar and what abilitys and weapons you gathered.

much if this that are ecential to progresing as smoth as possible

yeah, no, I *barely* won...had no money left and was1 hp/armor broken...and I'm pretty sure if I had been a few frames later I would have eaten what ended up being her final attack instead of winning...if I do another run in the future, I'll hopefully be in better form and I'll remember to grind up some money (one of the candles beyond the boss room gave a fixed 25 coin drop, and I even expected another fight with the succubus, but I just didn't expect phase 2 right away like that so I didn't bother to grind up...and getting stuck in the room sucked, devs really should fix that so you can leave if they aren't going to add save rooms/auto saves) also, I prefer the ...I guess it's a double scythe? the one that flies to the edge of the screen/blocking wall then flies back across the screen in reverse, stopwatch is kinda expensive and, if you have the coins to do so which I really don't, it feels cheaty if you spam it (plus I figured it'd be nerfed or outright fail on bosses, cause otherwise it's even cheaty-er)

the second form isn't too bad if you have the warrior and a sub weapon that can reach her from a grounded position like the cross or bombs.

i just kept tossing bombs at her while i dodged her attacks, which the bombs also helped with because it destroyed the swords that would be coming in my direction.

all the while, the warrior was taking shots at her too, and since the warrior telleports to her target, you don't have to aim like you do with the theif.

i also learned her movement patterns (yes, she has a looping pattern) so i made it through the fight with minimal damage after a few deaths.

the bombs are quite valuable once you learn how to use them.
You can lower and raise the difficulty at any time. Try lowering it to easy for now.

for one, telling someone to use a different subweapon does less than nothing when they literally can't leave the room and are running out coins to use subweapons with. and for two even if you learn the patterns, you only have enough hp to take about 3-4 hits in the fight (swords to the face aside, touching those spike walls knocks off a full 100 hp) so a couple slip ups and you are screwed and the fight resets (but your coins don't, hence the running out of subweapons problem)

also while I have the warrior, as far as I am aware she does absolutely nothing. either that or there's some extra step(s) I didn't do in order to activate her after getting her?

as for difficulty, I have no clue, so I'm just on whatever it defaulted me to from the start of the game. I suspect I am not on easy mode though, not with the damage I take each hit. and I kinda prefer to keep it that way, since I did actually win in the end, I might have given in on that if I had needed another round or twenty though...

This might help?

Edit : I beat that boss without using any subweapons, just the whip. When low on hp, I switch to cleric and heal while waiting for the spiked wall.
