How does breeding work exactly?

Hi, i started playing yesterday and i'm pretty hooked but i'm kind of lost when it comes to the breeding aspect and have some questions.

First off I read the pinned post by the dev but still wonder how exactly it works. Do the parents stats affect it or is it honestly just happiness based aka happy parents = stronger baby blob? If it's just that how exactly do we tell how happy they are? Is it those 4 stats it shows when you're using shift to interact with your blobs(if so how does it affect it exactly i'm very confused) or is there some sort of value that shows you just how happy they are?

Also i noticed there's a % value you see when you hatch a blob( After hatching the egg from the first blob world boss it had a 50% for example ) what does that mean?

And lastly do new blobs from breeding have slower stat growth from their skills in battle due to them being stronger?

I know it's quite a bit but whenever i play games with breeding mechanics i always want to know how it works and how to optimise it(you don't want to know how much time i wasted in DQ monsters games doing this. Seriously you don't)

So guide bellow does pretty good job explaining. yes parents stats affect offspring. there indicator of happiness from petting, decorations, temperature, and cleanliness. There is also some other stat i'm not completely sure how to get 100% but my guess is to give them all their cravings for the 4 days. yes it is the stat that shows when pressing shift but again there is another stat that people saying is a hidden stat, idk if anyone has tried giving cravings for all 4 days but that my guess rn.

the percentage is happiness of parents when breeding. not sure if it affects stat growth but does affect starting stat.

it doesn't feel like it to me but haven't completely tested it. it just harder sometimes because some battles are ohko and so don't get to use multiple times per battle like i used to.
