Shiny cards collection

Hi everyone !
I'm currently completing the shiny card collection (barely finished the normal one as I couldn't find the prophecy bird, it didn't appear in my shop for quite a long time).
Is it possible to complete the success "Gold Nugget" with Damaged Shiny Cards ?
I think not but is there a way to improve our chances to find shiny cards ? It can be pretty upsetting to see a card that you don't have in your collection but you can't buy it at the end of the day as you didn't sell any card/don't have the money (and the shiny card is over 400 $)...
Did anyone finish this achievment legimitally here ? How long game time did it take ? Any tips ? (I was thinking of having a huge amount of money, just waiting to get it in store and only buying the cards I'm missing and in fact, not playing the game...)

Yes, I have finished it. You need to fill the entire binder with mint shiny cards. Took me around 300 days in-game time but could have gone on much longer as the last card I was missing was a shiny Elemental Keeper Stavros.

At that time I already had around $20,000 on hand so buying any card wasn't a problem. It's just that once all sets are released the chance to get exactly the one card you need is pretty damn low. I purchased any and all boosters I could get my hands on just so I had something valuable to trade should a customer want to trade me his shiny Stavros (never happened) and of course checked the listings daily. In the end I was able to purchase it straight away for about $550. I got countless Stavros from boosters but never a shiny one.
