Prism Room

Perhaps this is an easy solution, but I'm not seeing the angle.

I'm in the room with the three prisms that I need to activate and the tentacled thing on the wall. This is the room where you gain the achievement 'Nowhere to Run'. I'm guessing I need to activate all three prisms, but each time I do, I get bludgeoned to death by the meat sticks.

Any tips?

shoot at the ones to left and right of the tentacles, then the one infront of it. then shoot at the rays center where they merge together.

Game wont hold your hand thats for sure which is refreshing in todays games that wipe ya butt all the way to the end. so it was trial and error, but im used to this from pre 2k games.

10 tries on that part and it nearly made me rage quit, apparently you have to be careful not to hit the shoggoth itself as you're trying to summon a portal to escape, not kill it.

NES games would have eaten you alive if you get mad dying 10 times :)

For anyone else stuck on this, it should also be noted to not be facing the tentacled mouth on the wall while hitting the prisms with your artifact. Hitting it will cause it to attack. Stand with your back towards it while you activate the prisms: left, right, forward, then zap the symbol that appears in the air. Once done correctly, walk into the new floating symbol to teleport away.
