The leaders are not progressing.
I've been playing since launch. At first, the leaders were progressing, but about two days later, the leader challenges simply stopped being counted, and consequently, the leaders stopped gaining XP. It's not a visual bug because I even reinstalled the game, and I'm also sure that I'm connected to the internet and logged into 2K. This is really annoying because I lose all my game progress.


Jogo desde o lançamento, no começo os lideres evoluíam, mas uns 2 dias depois simplesmente pararam de computar os desafios de lideres e consequentemente o ganho de XP dos lideres. não é um bug visual porque ate reinstalar o jogo eu fiz, e também tenho certeza que estou conectado na internet, e ate logado na 2K. E isso é muito chato porque eu perco todo o progresso do jogo.

I have exactly the same issue and is being a problem specifictly on Windows for me, because I installed the game on Linux and everything is normal there.
2K/Firaxis don't know how to help on this, I tried contacting support and we exhausted every troubleshooting they gave me and didn't work anyway.

And the support ended there, almost like "Thank you and good luck". This is so ridiculous.

I found a solution, at least for me:

I used a VPN to connect through US (I'm BR) and worked. After that, I closed the game and steam, and reopen without VPN and is still working.
The updates info from 2k/Firaxis will be there, you will be able to cross save and load.
I used Proton VPN

I also deleted ...\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII, before doing all of that, config files and license, nothing serious, but I think is optional not necessary. And don't work doing only that.

I have this exact probem on mac and it is annoying because I'd much enjoy changing to the new mementos as I move through the ages. Last night I finished Antiquity with Wa, and got the xp for e.g. completing the silk road and science paths, but not for finishing antiquity.

Also the screen for rewards is always empty, even if I know I've completed challenges and they registered.

Same problem here. No solution untill these moment.
I was having the same problem.
I noticed that my linked 2K account was in the United States region, while my Steam account is in Brazil.
I tried to change the region on the 2K website, but only through support.
I asked support to change it through the website.
After the change, I finished an era to test and gained leader experience normally.
So, check if the region of the 2K account is the same as the Steam account.
It could be a solution. It worked for me, and I saw a lot of Brazilians complaining about this bug, and few foreigners, so it could be something in the region.


Estava tendo o mesmo problema.
Percebi que minha conta 2K vinculada estava com a região dos estados unidos, enquanto a conta da minha steam é brasileira.
Tentei alterar a região no site da 2k mas apenas através do suporte.
Solicitei ao suporte a alteração pelo site.
Após a alteração, terminei uma era para testar e ganhei experiência de líder normalmente.
Então, verifiquem se a região da conta 2k e a mesma da conta da steam.
Pode ser uma solução. Pra mim resolveu, e verifiquei muitos brasileiros reclamando desse bug, e poucos estrangeiros, então pode ser algo da região.

Both 2k account and steam account are set to Brazil and i still can't earn leader xp.

That's a major letdown. Even though this is a old post, did anyone find a solution?
I'm in New Zealand and I also have this problem. 2K support have been completely useless.
