Black screen crash every 10-20 turns. No issues with other games I play lately, civ 6 , marvel rivals, overwatch, rimworld.

Crashes when I load a saved game or continue my current game. Interestingly, the error box appears right at launch on my Desktop, and is then 'hidden' behind the loading game.

Civilization 7 doesn't work.
If it runs after a few attempts, the game stops automatically and is forced to shut down.
The game worked perfectly until the most recent patch.
Now it crashes immediately on launch (DX12/Vulkan), with no error message.
I’ve tried all known solutions, but nothing helps.
This issue seems different from the older reports from February,
as it only began happening recently
Had the exact same issue!
9800x3d
Nvidia 5080 with latest drivers (572.83)
64 GB ram
Around 8tb free in total. 2tb free on Civ 7 drive.
Exactly same with me, either crashes at the menu or after 10-20 turns.

2K support is basically a bunch of chatbots regurgitating the same thing, and I've been dealing with them for 10 days and through 7 "reps". Most recent, going back to the very first suggestion that my 13th gen CPU is the problem, and directing me to an article about the known issues with 13/14th gen ***DESKTOP*** CPUs, which doesn't affect my laptop. They've also recommend signalling other software and installing a whole new windows profile or reinstalling windows because ntdll.dll has crashed. Once. Every other crash has been, surprise surprise, the game executable.
It's the damn game people, accept that, apologise to your users, and at least have the decency to say you're working on a solution rather than blaming every other possible cause. What's next? Blaming sunspots? I can't even get a refund because between 1.0.1 and 1.1.1 the game actually worked for me and I was able to put several good hours into it, but now, can't launch for more than 3 minutes and have no recourse for a refund on the founder's edition.
Installed Mods
Played an MP Game lately, and the Game crashed several Times with Mods activated.
Without Mods it ran smoothly.
P.S. Soundcard may bei an issue too !
Same issue here. It's driving me crazy...

Crash every 2-5 min, does not matter if its Vulkan or DX12. uninstalled and installed multiple times, tried evey option on your steam game support site
GPU: RTX 4070S
Ram: 32
Available Storage: Enough
For people only able to play a few minutes/turns until crash, the issue lies with the Steam depot which doesnt give you all necessary files. Essentially no matter how often you redownload, download driver etc. Nobody except steam themselves can fix this. I created a report ticket detailing this, only solution is waiting currently.

to update the issue regarding crashes 5 minutes in no matter what,
both supports refuse to help and acknowledge the issue 2K Support and Steam Support.
can only wait for a fix somehow, also both refuse to refund, so its pretty much gg.
simply put never buy a game from this developer ever again, what a absolute disgrace, will look into legal options.
