Figured it out on Mac (following what the Windows fix was & the dump Mac dump log:) )...
Click on Launchpad and start Terminal
cd /Users
ls (this is to get a list of the folders)
cd CSlug (instead of CSlug type your username folder)
cd Library
cd Application\ Support
cd Civilization\ VII
sudo rm LegalDocument.cache
It'll ask for your Mac password.

crashing on startup on both vulkan & dx12. played fine 2 days ago and now crashes a couple seconds into loading.
FYI if anyone else is having this issue was able to fix by following this method:
- go into Appdata\Local\Fraxis Games\Sid Meiers's Civilization VII and delete "LegalChoice.cache" and "LegalDocument.cache".

If I use cmd-shift-4 to take a screenshot, Civ 7 buttons become unresponsive. I can still scroll around the map but I can't close dialogs, open the "next action", enter a city, etc. Sometimes it resolves on its own after I've been away in other windows for awhile.

Really really upset with this. Shouldn't release a game that obviously has this many basic bugs needing ironing out.
I agree 100%. Also the fact that deleting legal cache files, or being offline, fixes it for some people makes me think it's anti piracy stuff keeping people from playing the game that they purchased legally.

Same issue as others: I open through the shortcut or through Steam, get a black screen with my PC's loading cursor, and then the program closes itself. Now I'm starting to see the Firaxis crash message even before my screen goes black. The odd part is that I was playing just fine yesterday.
this is where i found legalchoice & legaldocument files on windows. deleted these two files & it ran. they seem to be put back into the folder after starting up the second time. will check if they need to be deleted every time.
Just tried this myself, and it worked.
