Unable to Save? FIXED
played the game and went to take a break, tried to save but it doesn't let me... "error, unable to save". Don't know if its a bug or not but its annoying for sure. Anyone know a fix? Only fix i know of is to turn on cross play and save it in cross play.

Edit: Found a Fix, Read Below!

I am also having this issue. Saving in crossplay as well for the moment.
Having the same issue. Thanks for the cross play suggestion though, that worked for me

I assume your disks aren't full, but check that :-)

Just curious: do any of you have Dropbox (or Google Drive, or OneDrive) and let it sync your Documents folder? I've seen plenty of games having issues with that. Or moved your documents folder to an external drive or something?

Also there is this:

To the people that cant save locally, I found the solution for saving locally, you need to go to windows security, then to protection history, once you're there you'll need to click on protected folder access and if you're in the right protection you'll see an app or process blocked named: Civ7_Win64_DX12_FinalRelease.exe
Once you see it is the correct process just click on actions and allow on device and now you can save locally the game!

Same for me! Despite reinstalling, I can't save locally with crossplay on and off. So no round save either. Pretty frustrated considering the price.

Thanks, the problem was that the My Games folder was a network drive! I've never had any problems with other games before.
same here, cannot save

Yeah, a network drive could give issues as well. Not that I know why, but I've seen other games that have issues with anything other than a folder on a local disk.

THE PROTECTION HISTORY THING WORKED!

I had to click the control folder accesss folder to view it and then it showed the,"Civ7_Win64_DX12_FinalRelease.exe"
gave it access to the protected folders and wham bam its all good!

For those that need it i went;
Windows Security -> Virus and Threat Protection -> Protection History -> Protected Folder access blocked -> click on them until you see the Civ 7 one -> Control folder access settings -> Allow on app Through Controlled Folder access -> Add an Allowed app -> find the civ 7 one and click it and your'e done!
Thank you! Had the same issue with Windows Defender (which has been a problem for other things for like a week now).
@invader

thanks;
that works
