Is Civ 7 really copying Humankind?
"Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history and steer the course of your story by choosing a new civilization to represent your empire in each Age of human advancement."

Uh, no thanks.

EDIT: Its confirmed. You can play as Egypt and turn into Mongolia. Leaders and civilizations are separate.

Yeah, this is strange. And it comes from some one who loves Humankind. But there should be a 20 minute gameplay video in 19 minutes. Lest see.
The more I look into it, the more off-put I'm getting honestly. So far Civ 7's reveal has been pretty crushing.
Right out of the gate we're getting leader personas, profile customizations, unit skins, fog of war skins, city skins.
Man this is disappointing.

Civ 6 stole 90% of its gameplay from endless Legend, the recent titles have all been about ripping off good mechanics from other games
I have that game and haven't played it, I should check it out then if thats the case. Endless Space 2 is crazy.
Endless Legend is a great game! I go back to it every now and then

So Civilization has also arrived in the Sweet Baby Inc. era. Of course, they couldn't keep their hands off Civ. This will probably be my first Civ that I won't buy. Just like I didn't buy Humenkind.
The mechanism might be similar but the difference is how it works in Civilization 7. Tell me any game that does not use similar mechanisms from other games.

Yeah people just jump to conclusions. I get it, fun to meme cause it shares a similar mechanic to another game(s).

I'll judge it when I see it. I played Humankind at launch and everything was good at first. But after a bit of playing it was clearly lacking in depth.

Mind you this was at launch so I don't know what improvements they have made since then.

They made this documentary about Cleopatra that said she was black and Egypt sued them for distorting Egyptian identity.
A video game's not a documentary.

I can't believe that they copied off the mechanics of the same company twice in a row. They might as well hire the idea guys at Amplitude at this point.

I'm interested to see if they can do it better, however.
Cleopatra is from a dynasty of rulers that were started by one of the generals of Alexander the Great. So there is chances she had some Macedonian and other racial characteristics.

Cleopatra was a Greek and the documentary was sued for distorting Egyptian history to some pro-African American fantasy narrative about ancient Eygpt being ruled and populated predominately by black Africans
Macedonian and Greek were somewhat similar in ancient times.

Yeah, but that's beside the point he's making.
