Is Civ 7 really copying Humankind?
"Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history and steer the course of your story by choosing a new civilization to represent your empire in each Age of human advancement."

Uh, no thanks.

EDIT: Its confirmed. You can play as Egypt and turn into Mongolia. Leaders and civilizations are separate.

Yeah, this is strange. And it comes from some one who loves Humankind. But there should be a 20 minute gameplay video in 19 minutes. Lest see.

Civ 6 stole 90% of its gameplay from endless Legend, the recent titles have all been about ripping off good mechanics from other games

The more I look into it, the more off-put I'm getting honestly. So far Civ 7's reveal has been pretty crushing.
Right out of the gate we're getting leader personas, profile customizations, unit skins, fog of war skins, city skins.
Man this is disappointing.

I have that game and haven't played it, I should check it out then if thats the case. Endless Space 2 is crazy.

I hope they rethink that idea, that was something that I disliked about Humankind as it made the civilizations feel very disconnected and I hope leaders still remain tied to civilizations as well. I'd like to see multiple leaders for civilizations and dual leaders; but allowing free leaders as a default options is disappointing to me as well. It also seems like a hard thing to balance.

I'm pleased to see some of decisions in the game, navigable rivers are something that I have felt would make a great addition. I just hope they don't make devise decisions for the fan-base and drive players away.

Yeah, that's literally the WORST idea Humankind came with. Good job copying this one lads :emofdr::emofdr::emofdr:

Hopefully not. HK is a turd.

That culture hopping nonsense was one of the worst things in Humankind. Civ 7 trailer looked good and then I read the store page and completely lost interest. A truly appalling game design decision. Not to mention all the micro transaction crap too. I'll stick with Ara.

The gameplay is deadass just copy pasted. I hope this is some sort of April Fools. HK bombed for a reason.

Nothing about that will change anymore. The release is in half a year. All that happens from here on is finishing what is there, nothing will be reworked anymore

They're actually doing it lol. Hatshepsut of the Songhai.

I'm not against this idea. I always wanted to have new buildings and units in each era for every civ.

You... have?? It's called the Tech Tree?

And if you mean changing your uniques... my guy, Humankind was a massive turd. It doesn't work. It's not fun, it destroyes the immersion and any connection you might have had to your civilization, while simultaniously ruining the readability of the game, as your neighbour "Rome" suddenly is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Arabia or something.

Yeah, I meant uniques. And yes, there is some weirdness when an asian culture suddenly transforms into european and I think there should be some limitations on what civ you can choose next. But generally, I'm not against this idea.
