Civilopedia
I have not played in a while out of frustration. With the new patch that youtubers love, I sat down to try again. I wanted to see what it took to be the United States or America so I figured the Civilopedia would help. I could not find it in game. I pulled up an old game from several weeks ago and it was as useless as it was from the beginning. I could not find anything besides the first age for leaders and civilizations. And these leaders and civilizations had no indication what leads to America (United States). Then I looked up at the the line of info that normally in windows applications shows you what path it took to get to the screen you are looking at. This was shocking in that it was completely useless and incorrect. I typed in Ben Franklin because I could not find him in leaders, and he popped up. I looked at the path bar and it was not related at all to Ben Franklin. Lastly I typed in USA/America, etc.., nothing.
WTF happened to Firaxis. Not even basic information is available, I am taking another month off. I hope this game does not die, but if I were a gambler, I would say there is a >50% chance this game is abandoned within a year because no one buys it. Damn-it!!

Yes, the Civilopedia is missing info but you can always ask here or go to the civ wiki:

you dont have to go to civilopedia to see all the unlocks, those are in game was it up screen right in lock looking thing, there you can see all the ways to unlock every culture, but if i remember correctly you can only see the info for next age.. yes the information about the game is a mess but it is usually there just what feels like in random places..

Gonna take an opportunity to say it: The Civilopedia in Civ VII is the worst I have seen in the series. It's barely functional with terrible omissions. There is no mention which terrain can have which resources, there is no links between any articles, and the game concepts category makes me think of infinite layers of abyss...

From the get go, the "useless text" has been overabundant in all parts of the game. It is as if Firaxis devoted an incredible amount of resources to this part (that no one cares about) which should have spent on the game. I remember in the Dev Diaries the history guy with the grey hair seemed to have way too much say in things.., and yeah, he did and it shows in the final product. What in the heck happened to Firaxis?
