No. We should all review according to our views so people that feel they can find themselves in the review can make their choice on whether to buy or not.
I, for one, would recommend this game. I've played it for 130+ hours and enjoyed them. I can also understand a lot of the gripes people have with this game, back many of the critiques, and in general see many ways this game needs to improve. This in no way means I need to change my review to 'not recommended'. I still recommend Civ VII to my friends, but would also inform them of the downsides of the game.
Ah, i did not recommend civ to my friends at this price tag along with all the contents lacking... and the bad choice changing civ based on a leader that has nothing to do with it
Encouraging to review bomb the game? Hmmm.
it aint review bombing, it's an honest review of it, after hours spent trying it.
It is perfectly legit to vent ones frustration, the OP clearly have played the game and initially was positive and then after a while realized that it did not deserve the review.
The OP certainly seem open to change it again if the game deserves it.
This clearly is what the review system are for.
I also think it is totally legit to encourage players to change their reviews if they feel it deserves it in order to pressure the developers to do something about many of the grievances they can do something about. They clearly will not change any core aspects of the game that some people have issues with, but there are many legit issues with the game that can be fixed.
Also, I think pressuring others into a childish review bomb is a little hyperbolic don't you think? You know many of your complaints were also present in previous titles on their release?
Be patient more maps and content will be coming and, like you said, waiting for a sale is also the smart option these days for those on a tight gaming budget. For me I already got more than my monies worth.
That is review bombing.
Does not have to be negative if it has a positive effect in the end and the issues are fixed.
60 hours is certainly enough I managed to practically beat the game on Diety after 20 hours gameplay.
I'd be inclined to agree if the OP had posted anything even remotely constructive or positive to go with it. Civ VII isn't broken or mismanaged enough to warrant any sort of activism or movement here. This is just another flaming and baiting thread, nothing more.
That's rather impressive. What was your favorite leader/momento combo and victory type and why?
My argument was more about their plea for a community wide review bomb on a 4X game they only spent 60 hours on and it, and many of it's ilk, have had many of the same release issues on lack of maps/polish etc. So don't think a small review bomb push will change anything on that front. Not to mention Firaxis moves at their own pace. Sorry if I didn't communicate that properly as it's getting late over here.
Like I rarely experience some of the issues he brought up. No way 60 hours in a 4X is enough of a sample size for definitive knowledge of the AI at end game because it takes multiple games to test something like that. Not to mention my experience has been the exact opposite.
I think this act is hyperbolic and someone wanting attention. Let's see how far their review bomb push goes. I have a feeling not very far since most of those that didn't like it have already moved on and many others are just in the waiting room for more fixes and content.
Jeez I just meant to write a couple sentences...almost time for sleep...as soon as I reach the Exploration Age!
If it is updated with legitimate issues, it is not a review bomb.
If it is 'This isn't the game I wanted because I assumed it would be like IV or V and did no research, that would be a review bomb.
Ha... ha... if you use Mementos you have not even beaten the deity AI.. if you need a handicap to beat the AI you are not doing it right. I have not used a single Mementos to date, really awful mechanics in my opinion.
I guess it is not difficult to beat the AI with any leader, the game probably are not very different depending on what leader or civilization you use. The differences are really small and only inform some of the early game tactics until you start rolling, there are too many exploits versus the AI.
In my last game I actually reduced the difficulty and instead played it more "casually" not exploiting stuff, was a bit more interesting. Still I only managed to get about half the exploration age before I ended that game as I was too far ahead of the AI, all challenges was gone.
You just made this game sound like a complete waste of time if it is that easy.
