At least wait for a few patches/updates maybe some major DLC ?
Unlikely to go on a major sale soon it is just too new.

You can watch enough content to decide that for yourself.
If you get the itch to play it and can afford it, buy it.
If not, wait for sale and play something else.

At the moment the price is very (many would say "too") high, for the product you recive.

I say definitely buy, it's great. Others will say don't buy, it's bad. What to do?

You know your tastes best. Watch some gameplay footage, ponder, make your own decision.
Invest your time first in reviewing the excellent reviews as to why the game is not in a playable state currently, which has been responded to by the developers who are working on rolling out a fairly urgent patch to address some of the critical issues affecting the gameplay.

Then, see if the fixes address major issues with gameplay. Then, probably wait for a sale. From what I've been reading, there's a major consensus among the reviewers in expressing very deep remorse over spending what they have.
Wait for DLCs.
Play Humankind it's the same

If you need to ask, then you already know the answer for you is to not buy it.
Buy if you dont mind researching a bit on the internet how what works. Game is great.

Spoken like someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

I'm not sure what you're expecting. It's going to be roughly 50-50 'buy it' - 'don't buy' it so you're only going to end up deciding for yourself anyway.

Honestly, if you don't know that you want to play the game today, then you probably don't so just wishlist and wait for a sale, especially as we've seen quite a few folks willing to give it a go past the refund window only to find that they hate the era changing system.

We really don't need another angry peep on these boards complaining about the game. :D

No, the price is to high.
It is not the full game.
It will have a lot of dlc's.
The game design and game play is different from the normal civ, game genre.
The civ series is getting stale.
And the sollution they chose to solve it is not helping it.
i dont recommend buy this game now. wait for a big sale. this game is not worth this price.
If I knew that "Just One more turn" was not an option. I would not have purchased. Game is not ready for sale yet. IMHO

The game needs some more work to really shine such as map and rules options, "one more turn", some better balancing of resources, tech and wonders, etcetera.
Despite the need for patches, I have really enjoyed the game so far and I have no regrets getting in early.

I have played for 86h in a very short time, so in my books that's well worth 130$. It probably depends on your budget. As others have pointed out there are some features of older civ's missing, victory conditions etc, and the UI needs some mods which are easily installed. To say it were not a complete game is utter nonsense. It needs balancing, but all in all everything works as intended. It runs very stable if you have a reasonable pc, it has beautiful graphics and some interesting new features. That said, these features apparently aren't liked by everyone, so it would be wise to read / watch information about age transition, commanders, and civilization hopping, before you buy something you can't stand. If you give these changes a chance you might find the good old feeling of "just one more turn". But if you expect civ 5/6 with newer graphics, it isn't. And of course atm it has less civs and leaders than civ6 had after 8 years. (That's why i bought the founders edition). You could wait until it's on sale, but you also could buy it now and play it now, with all the quirks new games always have these days. If you don't like that, probably better to wait. But if you don't mind using some mods and watching some videos to learn the game , it's definitely fun to play.
