Pre-order bonus available after release?
Hi guys,

Does anyone know if the pre-order stuff will be available for purchase after the official release?

As far as I can tell from the website, everything should be available to pick up later except the Founder's Content Pack, which is:

Founders Content Pack, which includes:
2 leader personas
4 profile customizations
1 fog of war tile set
1 Founders palace skin

The founder's pack will only be available until February 28, the founder's content pack seems to be the only thing from the Founders edition which will not be available later on, at least from the info they provide.

If you're broke, I wouldn't worry about it.

You'll have plenty of time to save your money up and purchase what you want later.

You know Firaxis. They work in slow motion.

They won't screw you over for purchasing only the base game.

Nah, I'm not broke. Just a little too sceptical for the preorder at the moment...so I'd prefer to purchase after launch if the game turns out to be good.

I would guess it would be like 6. Everything was included in the anthology version.

You always have the option of buying it as Steam's refund policy for pre-orders allows you to request a refund before the game is released and or within two weeks of the release if you've played it for less than two hours.

14 days from release is likely enough time to form a decent opinion? If its good keep it and the bonuses. If it's bad just refund within 14 days from release and less than 2 hours played.

it can take longer than 2 hours to get out of the early game.

At least you can check out reviews, though take steam user reviews with a grain of salt. You have to weed out the credible ones.

The post order bonus is an overwhelming desire to kick yourself in the nuts when this game releases in barely functional shape like Civ6, after you paid up to $130 (USD) for it.

Yes but my comment was in reference to you saying in your previous comment " I'd prefer to purchase after launch if the game turns out to be good."

That implies that you were going to buy it if the reviews were good. As I said if you prepurchase, you have 14 days to decide if the reviews are good enough without playing like you would have based on your comment above. If reviews are good then you keep the bonuses, if bad reviews you refund.

I'm more interested in seeing gameplay and random map options. The limited number of civs in the game is a big concern of mine, I use more than 5 in a quick run through.

Two game changing personas? And they're FOMO bait?

Yeah, this alone made me decide not to buy the game. I hate this ♥♥♥♥. "You have to pay 120 bucks to get the whole game! By the way, we've locked the two (probably) best leaders under a 50 dollar pay wall, and made sure you bought it by giving you two weeks to buy it!"

Absolutely scummy behavior.

Shows that these greedy devs probably cut a ♥♥♥♥ ton of content to sell back to you piece meal for exorbitant prices.

I don't like this behavior either, it is the start of Civ becoming ptw.

In all honestly, I will probably end up not buying Civ7 at all, if they run development like they did for Civ6.

The AI was and is profoundly broken, and it was never, ever adequately fixed.

But it did not stop Fixaris from shoveling out how many DLCs?

I will have a hard time forgiving that.
Buy it then refund it
