Valid Constructible
I am playing as the Abassid, and am in the exploration age. I have recruited an 'Alim and he -- Al-Shayboni -- has to be activated on a "Valid Constructible," whatever that is. I have moved him to several sites in several different settlements and he still isn't happy. Can anyone help?

I finally moved old Al-Shayboni on a culture building, and he liked that.:steamhappy:
Al-Shaybani: Activate on a Culture Building. Receive an additional Tradition slot.

Many things can be solved with the superpower of reading.

So the activation objective of each "Great Person" can be found in the Civalopedia? I didn't know that and didn't even think to look there.

No, it's shown when you move the cursor/pointer over the ability.

Well, yeah, I did know that. In this particular case what was shown was that this Great Person had to be activated on a "Valid Constructible." It didn't say a thing about being activated on a culture building -- I had to find that out by hit-or-miss.

When you give over the ability button of a great person, it has a description about what that person’s ability is. In that description, it tells you what conditions are needed to activate it.

I’ve played as the Abbasids and used every available ‘Alim, I know for a fact the culture building text is there.
did you maybe have multiple alims and you are confusing al shaybani with someone else?
al shaybani should always say that he wants a culture building
the ones that have the "Valid Constructible" description should be:
al jahiz
ibn sina
and al farghani

specifically those three should be just saying "Builds an X, must be activated on a valid constructible", and a valid constructible is any urban disctrict that still has 1 empty or overbuildable spot

No! There was just the one 'Alims -- al Shaybani. He was supposed to say that he wanted to activate on a culture building; but what he said was that he wanted to activate on a "Valid Constructible." Like I posted at the beginning of the thread, I had no clue what a "Valid Constructible" was and had no help from the Civilopedia or Wiki, so that's why I posted the thread.

The Civilopedia is super unreliable at the moment, it's a 50/50 if you're going to find the information you need.
Hopefully they sort it out with time.

I noticed a minor text bug on one of the Egypt's great person abilities last night, and I think I've encountered something like it on Abbasids as well. But I was still able to see where the person was supposed to be activated.
