Try restarting Steam
^Whenever this happens to me, restarting Steam usually triggers the DLC/update to download.

Restarted Steam 3 times now and no joy. Can these devs get nothing right?

to be fair this is very much a steam issue, the developers of civ cannot do anything about it.

try to log out, than log back in again.
to log out, top left click on steam (above store), than click on sign out.

alternatively you could check the dlc list.
in steam library right click civ 7 -> properties -> dlc
disable the dlc and close the window, than open the window again and enable it again.

Tried both of these and no joy. Thanks for trying 'tho.
I've contacted Steam support and given them 12 hours to either sort this or refund me

3 hours after buying it its downloading. Guess that the server must have been down. Would have been nice if they had notified me of that.
Must be those pesky good-for-nothing devs, am I right?

From my understanding, the dlc content was installed with the regular patch. Buying the DLC just enable the code.

You could be right- BUT earlier when I went to the library and clicked on properties "DLC" was there. Opening it listed the DLC and its various items, with an Install button above them. Clicking on which just resulted in the button greying out and nothing else. After the later download all that has vanished. I've no idea how big the download was, so it could have been a few bytes of code to unlock the DLC.
Oh, right. Ngl I forgot about the DLC.. I think I have it included already, Gotta Try the Brits out.

You were willing to spend $30 for a few civs/wonders even though it has 85% negative reviews...

I'm genuinely curious, why? Like, what is offered in the DLC that you found to be worth it? Firaxis/2K have obviously found a formula to make money even when something seems to be a poor value and has been received negatively, so I'm really wondering what convinced you to buy it. No shade intended.

Because he wanted to ? Because he wanted to play with one of the DLC features ?
There are tons and tons of games/dlc with negative/mixed reviews but enjoyed by its players. How the way we spend our money should be other people's problem ?
The impact of Steam "reviews" on people's purchasing decisions is GREATLY exaggerated.

The question asked was what specifically was worth $30 in the DLC to the OP. If you'd like to take part in the discussion that's fine. If you're just here to whine about a discussion being had you can leave. Nobody is forcing you to read or asking you to reply.
