Civ 6 - Nice game. My favourite even if it came with some rubbish elements in it
Civ 7 - Newest game. Much better graphics. There are some features I love in this. Cant go back to Civ 6 since i like playing latest games and cant go back to the weaker graphic Civ 6.... which pis**s me off even more since I hate Civ 7 boring XD. I wish I was more objective/achievement oriented player since their so enthusiastic while im so much a casual player
For me Civ is a game series where I never go back to older titles so Civ 7 it is. 4x strategy games are long winded games so most always tend to latest versions :)
The fact that it got an expansion at all is a surprise but my guess would be that they wanted to see if the game could somewhat recover from the disaster they had with it. And it didn't recover. Look at the Rising Tide Steam page. It has 580 reviews. No one really bought that expansion because the big majority of the players already had lost interest in BE and moved on.
And btw. the amount of backlash Civ 7 is getting is similar to what BE got but for different reasons. Still it is because the game has massive problems and terrible design decisions.
Except that's incorrect. Civ VI consistently has a bigger daily concurrent player count. They peak at different times of the day, but VII's peak is never higher than VI's peak.
/trolling (because that's how that one guy refers to posters who state UNEQUIVOCAL FACTS that don't align with his PERSONAL OPINIONS)
People are going to sit here and compare player numbers and content to Civ 6 constantly because this game is called Civ 7. They expected something linearly better in every way, but got something extremely different.
Like to me the best Civ entry remains Civ2 (even though I find the 4 more solid on game mechanics) mainly because it has actors for your council and videos with chilling soundtrack for wonders. I never felt as immersed in a strategy game than with Civ2 (and Starcraft). Connecting the game with reality was basically the best game design for a game that ambitious. And since the 2 I've been waiting for a council and some videos of our world's wonders, not some cheap animation. Immersion is crucial even in a strategy game and Civ2 did the job better overall.
15,650 to be exact.

C7 - 28K in-game
53% more people playing 6 than 7. And the gap is growing as people seem to be abandoning 7.
Over the weekend 7 peaked at 54-55K and 6 peaked at 60K-61K
Civilization VI is actually growing.
Civilization VII was already shrinking after the first week of official release.
Confirmed, civ 7 is a disaster. Not even the launch of Civ 6 back then was as this bad and we thought that was bad at the time. LOL
I'm not going back to VI. VII is where it is at now.
civ 7 went from around 84000 to 54000 in 9 days for a loss of around 36%
7 also had a staggered release, you are not going to see that dramatic shift.
