If you're certain you've completed them all, it could be a bug. But if something is legit missing, it's probably some kind of quest that is difficult to trigger.
during a game press esc, challenges, leader
the challenges are listed there, including how much exp they give you
None of the things you said appear in the game for me.
Is this because i didn't create a 2k account?
i really really hope that there is another reason for it, or else it would mean that everyone will loose all mementos when 2k account support eventually gets killed.
they did do the same with beyond earth and starships, so i would not be very surprised, but i would be very very annoyed.
so if you are missing xp, aim for legacy paths you typically dont complete
On the top right of the main screen there should be three clickable icons (boxes).
The first icon (your badge) opens a new window with three selectable tabs 'PROGRESS, CHALLENGES, CUSTOMIZE).
PROGRESS tab - Shows you your current overall level along with each leader level on the left, you can click on individual leaders and the table on the right should populate with his/her current level/XP with the required progress challenges below. Any challenges with a lock icon haven't been completed yet.
CHALLENGES tab - This has a further two tabs (FOUNDATION, LEADER)
FOUNDATION tab - This shows all game challenges (265 in total. Founders Edition) broken into five sections (Tutorials, Wonders, Civ Victories, Milestones and Accomplishments). Selecting any of the five sections will populate the list on the right with the required tasks along with the XP awarded. If a task is completed, then that task will be ticked. You can also 'sort by Challenges' or 'sort by Completed Status' (just above the list).
LEADER tab - This shows all the leader challenges (1446 in total. Founders Edition) broken by each individual leader. Selecting a leader will populate the list with the challenges for that particular leader along with the XP. A task will be ticked if completed and this list can be sorted.
CUSTOMIZE tab - Five tabs here (BADGE, BANNER, TITLE, BORDER, COLOR). As you progress through the levels you can customize how your badge/banner look.
Yup, for me none of those boxes are clickable. Well they sort of are, but they just take you to a sign up for a 2k account screen. (If you hover over them, they all say, "login to a 2k account first".)
I like that 2k lets me disagree to their terms and services, but it sucks they withhold a portion of the game from me as a result.
Mementos are not 'part of the game' they're a fun little reward spice up future games but not at all balanced or necessary.
Like it or not, player metrics help them make this game and future games. If running the gerbil wheel to get rewards is how they want to get them from me, I'm fine with that.
I've realized 'protecting' myself from the vagaries of late-stage capitalism is largely pointless, so I'm going to take the small bits of pleasure where I can. In the unlikely event that 2k is spying on more than my gameplay, it hardly compares to the fact that my own government and financial institutions have proven totally inept at protecting my truly important data. As for machine performance, it's done noticeable harm, which I wish I could say the same about all the random crap my operating system of choice insisted needed to be installed.
I disagree. They have gameplay implications, so, they are part of the game. They also lock one leader behind having a 2k account connected. If it was just skins or emoji or something I wouldn't care at all. But still I like that I can say no to them aggregating my data - outside of what they can figure out from my steam achievements, which really, is a similar tool for developers to determine how people play the game.
Hm, Is it really the operating system of your choice? Or just the one your using because you think switching to Linux would mean you'd miss out on something you need from Windows or Mac? Make the jump! I'm on Linux, its great at gaming now.
