Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

Vis statistikk:
šŸ‘‘"Civ 7 - Build An Empire To Fail The Test of Time"šŸ’€
I'm starting to wonder.. Does the new Devs prefer city builders, puzzle and simulation games over strategy games?

It's in the official Sid Meier's Civilization slogan for God's sake!

"Build An Empire To Stand The Test of Time".

Immersion is everything in these kind of games!
We play to immerse ourselves and have fun!

It's like the Devs did not even play and enjoy Civ 1 to Civ 5 !

EDIT:
Clarification: I own Civ 7 on PlayStation 5 and I'm currently playing my first save game right now.
And unfortunately I'm not feeling immersed playing since the devs are forcing me to change civilizations. Seriously. What were they thinking !!? :lunar2019deadpanpig:

 I'm losing my motivation for a 2nd playthrough (I'm currently in the 2nd era). As a longtime Sid Meier's Civilization fan changing Civilizations is really frustrating.

Yet another ignorant rant from someone who hasn't even played the game. Don't you people have anything better to do?

So, because he plays on PS5 his opinion is invalid? You're unhinged, M&M.

Civ VII is a proper Civilization game and the best since Civ IV. I would even go so far as to say that it's the first game in the franchise that plays like a proper sequel to the original and not just as more of the same with minor changes.

Dude that has averaged a whopping 45 hours of gameplay between Civ IV-Civ VII continues to provide his expert Civilization opinions. You played 6 MINUTES of Civ IV and you're telling us which game is the best in the series. šŸ˜‚

You've played 3 hours of Civ VII in the last 5 days. If it's so great why don't you spend some time with it?

Goofball.

ā€œThey killed Civā€ oh please let’s not get dramatic.

They did. It was a storied franchise that everyone would rush to buy. Now we have a game people are refunding and that can’t get over the player count of the last one (which was highly overrated). If you think this hasn’t severely affected this series reputation going forward I don’t know what to tell you. I for one will never again buy a Civ game day one and I never thought I’d say that.
This is the same doom and gloom I’ve seen with every Civ release. ā€œOh no, change, I don’t like change.ā€

What you're not acknowledging is this game has had a poorer reception than any other. Ignore the forum posts, if you wish, but the reviews and concurrent player counts are supporting the "doom and gloom" with this iteration. No Civilization game has received worse user reviews than VII. Yesterday, Civilization VI had a higher peak player count than Civilization VII. Civilization VII's concurrent player count dropped nearly 50% in just 4 days after it's peak. The numbers support the detractors not the defenders.

Simply put, the numbers don't lie.

According to a Civ 7 infographic recently released by Firaxis, players have completed over 16 million campaigns for a total of one billion turns. I think rumors of the franchise's demise are greatly exaggerated.

I suppose it depends on what they mean by "campaigns".

I went back to civ 5. Should have been tagged as early access. Cannot see much change until we get the roadmap for 2026 when we will start getting the missing pieces hopefully. 2025 just seems like more faceless leaders. Are these even leaders but from someone's woke list
They haven't made a good game since Civ 5. Ed Beach has yet to make something good. Denuvo & the high price, the obvious microtransaction hell future, merging Civ 6 with Humankind, Console game day 1. Beyond Earth and Civ 6 been terrible. Sub-par reviews. All the evidence was out there for Civ 7 to be another dud. Why buy then complain?

nowadays OS, drivers, steam etc. is and Civ 7 downloading like crap, did I really pay 8k for just a buggy mess or the game and customer support all in one?
Sir, I am being told that I need to buy a thermal camera to monitor the temperature on the cable going between my brand new PSU and brand new graphics card on account that the connectors are going to melt and burn my house down.

It is time to reign in the corporations for their unsafe and unethical practices.

An unintentionally ironic claim when you consider that Ed Beach was the lead designer on both of the Civ 5 expansion packs that turned it into the game you know and love today.

I never understood what's so immersive in playing one nation the whole game through,
thats as unrealistic as changing nations through the ages. You even keep the leader you just change the civilization, i personally don't have problems with it.

I Agree......I'm sure that there will many people will enjoy this game but it's not part of the Main Civ family.....perhaps they should re-name it Civilization : Era's.........as an off shoot franchise and rebuild Civ 7 as a proper Civ game.
I dunno, Taylor Swift might sue. Maybe Civilization: Leader of Nations? Nah that sounds like crap, I’ll give it some thought and get back to you.
What about Civilization: Call to Power? Oh, wait...

The game's only hope is game's leadership is collectively axed and the game is redesigned to its core much like Stellaris was. As it is now, all it'll ever achieve is disappointment by Civ fans and 2K's accountants.

Can we all request the developers to put in an option to play without civ transitions. It is such a mood-killer. Not sure why anyone thought that most players would enjoy losing civs they have vested hours developing.
