Sid Meier's Civilization VII

62 year old Idiot is buying it.... feels like a paradox game. Arghhhh...
I played it since Civ 1.
Loved Civ2/4 the most. (i know, i know....)
Played thousends of hours.

So i know the "bang for the buck" is a given for a Civ game.
Take my money.
BUT !
Please, release games with a UI/Content WORTH of a CIV game.
I fear you are fall into the same trap as paradox. Unfinished games at release, content which is delivered as paid DLC shortly after, the result are unhappy customers.

You can do this once. Not twice. Fireaxis, you can do so much better.
And for sure, your loyal fan base DESERVES it.
Yes. we deserve a good game from the start. Because we love your games.
(my heart.....damm it....)

With love, the concerned Salzherz from germany.

Paradox games are empty shells where they fake simulations to make people feel smart.
Mountain Man lähetti viestin:
Civ 7 plays nothing like a Paradox game. On the contrary, it plays very much like a classic Civilization game. It's different, but the same.
I think his argument is the structure of how the game is built with intentional holes to be sold later as DLC, which i get to some extent. Its rough to see, but unfortunately the nature of the market demands returns. This is an issue with capitalism, not just with the gaming industry. Game prices have not changed much in 15 years, so these studios need to make a product that brings in more money and charging $200 for a base game won't fly, so they sell it in parts over time. Again, this structure is a result of capitalism's expectations of infinite growth, not the gaming industry.

compelete nonsense. Its THEIR choices not the market. There are still thousands of games not being made like this which already disproves everything you said.
Fellow gamers, i am happy to pay 100 or 200 Euros for a great game which will entertain me for so many hours.
My point is:
- we should get a great UI as pillar for the gameplay
- we should get great maps for the old tarts like me, for 100 hour per game fun
- we should get a endgame
- we should get a science tree which is not barebones in the later epochs

My issue is that this is not the case. Nevertheless, i will buy it to keep Fireaxis in the industry, i think many of you will do it.

But really, could we not got a little bit more of quality ?

then you are part of the problem and destroying my hobby gaming, so please dont call yourself a gamer.
Rampage, i am buying games since Temple of Apshai (C64), Ultima, Bards Tale, etc.
BUYING
Spending MONEY.

And i am happy to spend money. For good games, or games which will be good (cross fingers). I am not a problem, i am a fundament.
WIth many others.

I wish every game is as good as Elden Ring from the start. But examples like Cyberpunk are reality. Your argument: "buy only if the game is 100%" would not result in 100% good games. Unfortunately.

Take the rose tinted goggles off... Civ 4 WAS amazing, civ 6 with expansions is far better.
Stacks of doom and squares alone make Civ 4 horrific to play nowadays.

Spending money is not the issue, overpaying for unfinished trash is a real problem though.
Why would a dev ever put in the effort to create a good and complete ever again if people like you will keep throwing money at them anyway?

And no idea what you are saying in the next part, random babbling putting words in my mouth when i never said anything like it. Either a troll or too young to argue with.

I'd swap hexes to squares anytime. And doomstacks were a thing you and the AI both used, so, no harm done; everyone had the chance to have their on Thermopylae...
2k - all i can Point my fingers @. Sid Meyers himself never would release games like this.
They probably have alot more content allready finished. I mean come one - 7 Titles / lets say 10 with alpha centauri and similar titles - they "dont" have the knowledge how the game should be and what the community wants? 2k Policy how to split games into pieces to squezze more money.

Car companys should do this so - buy a car full price but you can drive it 2 years later if tires arrive. F*** gamecompanys this years - glad ive not bought civ7 pre and waiting for discount or maybe next year. This days you cant even thrust your best gaming buddys? Shame on the greed world of money.

Rampage, your agressive behaviour is the reason i stay away from forums in common.
As i said, 62 year, RL, 3 kids, married.
Joy since Asteroids from Atari --> playing games.

I dont defend it, just read the message. I buy it. And yes, i think thats the right thing to do for ME. Just for me. But again, without money, no developer will survive.
Its not a fail like Dragon Age, they deserve to burn.....
But fireaxis ? For sure not.

You not being able to speak english doesnt make me aggresive for not understanding you lol what kind of logic is that? And you being loyal to a company that doesnt care about anything but fleecing you as hard as possible says it all about you really... lost cause....
Fellow gamers, HF and GL, as usual.
