I think the simplicity was a bit drawback too. I expect a Civ game to be complicated and nuanced. I expect a lot of things to manage at once, because I love me a big empire. But this version of Civ appears to be squarely aimed at the casual segment, who only has a few hours a month to play.
There's probably a market for that, but IDK how long that type of player'd be retained. Meanwhile, it alienates what appears to be just under half the responding playerbase at present.
uhh o, we being rude on how we treat/approach people? tsk tsk
Do you really think attacking everyone with a negative opinion of the game is going to help perception of the game at all? To me, that would seem like a quick and reliable way to lose public opinion further. Think it's a good idea, or?

So, what's your positives and negatives about the game so far?
How about we don't, and say that we did.
Nobody wants to talk to you. You don't play the game.
All you are doing is spamming threads with nonsense. Every third person is you typing.
How lonely does one have to be to blitz the Civilization VII forums.
Go play a video game. Or hit the gym.
Dudes a troll, put him on ignore, him telling someone to touch grass is the definition of kettle meet pot. 12,121 entries on steam forums isn't a sane person....
The adjancy bonus are very backwards too. Districts mechanic was change for the worse.
I don't predict a big success for civ 7. I received it as a gift and I'll make my friend happy playing a few...
But to be truthful I just want to go back to Civ 5 where it's just a matter of playing an actual strategy game.
This is too much RNG based and balance is way off. Some people will be stubborn and play it because graphic are more eye candy but ultimately I think it'll do like many Strategy games where people realize previous entries had so much more quality.
Like Age of Empires 2 > Age of Empires 4 for examples.
Also why tea only exist in a single biome lamp, unlocking Japan way to RNG.
The positives, it's a CIV game. It does most everything pretty good. Even with its kinks. Just like all the others.
Early age seems supreme to other CIVs in every way. That's a big deal to me in replay ability. Combat has been great. City building is great. The arc of each age seems very good. Graphics are great. I really love diplomacy so far. It feels like I can do more to shape my strategy using it. Never really felt like that before. Though you could a little. I like the leader and civ changes. It absolutely adds to forward thinking and general strategy overall.
I think AI has been good as well. Yup, it does some dumb things. However I do think it's better than past civs.
The negatives, are superficial. Practically every negative is a small patch away. For instance maps and game start options. What we have so far works great. So any additions will be even better, as long as they don't introduce bugs.
When deciding if I wanted to preorder. The map thing was a big deal, I almost didn't. So I kind of rolled the dice on that one. But I figured they had some issues and needed to cook longer. So I figured i'd take a hit on that. Glad I did, what we have is plenty good enough for the moment.
The UI isn't to bad, but tool tips need some work. Not a deal breaker. Just some QOL love. Same as no auto scout. Personally, I've never used scout auto, I tend to want to see everything, for strategy. I do use auto scout on ships. Again, probably be added.
So that leave the age transition. Which I have liked a lot so far. But to me, it's like when 5 went to hex. I can see there being a split on how well it's received.
I haven't had a single issue with criticism. I do however have an issue with refund babies and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ criticism. Like people saying something it doesn't do or doesn't have, when it does.
In 1500/1570, where did they want them to be made? - by plane? Or did other civilizations walk on the sea and were Gods? - Why do they give us 4 repeated leaders in CV VII? to fill sausages and have to wait another 5 years to pay another €5 to play with a leader and culture that was important for the merchant development of the whole world, where do you think the English , France and Dutch Caravels and Ships and others were born? - Was it by AI or did they use Portuguese Naval science and technology to fill cannons, who led trade and merchant routes for almost 70 years where the world feared naval power? - I'm not sucking up because everyone will like to play with a leader of their nation, I'm just telling the truth that they ignore and don't bring in repeated leaders and others who have nothing to do with the Age of Exploration.
- The Age of Discoveries (or the Great Navigations) is the name given to the period of history that took place between the 15th century and the beginning of the 17th century, during which, initially, the Portuguese, then the Spanish and, later, some European countries intensively explored the globe in search of new trade routes. Historians generally refer to the "age of discovery" as the pioneering maritime explorations carried out by the Portuguese and Spanish between the 15th and 16th centuries, who established relations with Africa, America and Asia, in search of an alternative route to the "Indies", driven by the trade in gold, silver and spices. These explorations in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans were followed by other European countries, such as France, England and the Netherlands, which explored the Portuguese and Spanish trade routes to the Pacific Ocean, reaching Australia in 1606 and New Zealand in 1642. European exploration continued until the global mapping of the world was carried out, resulting in a new world division, and in contact between distant civilizations, reaching the most remote frontiers much later, in the 20th century.
Even Wikipedia they pretend not to see
So now they'll have to wait 5 years until I buy the game lol
at least respect wikipedia
If I were to be demanding, it would be mandatory to include Portugal in the Age of Exploration, not mandatory, but a priority. If they don't include it, it's because they have trouble accepting it.
