Choose your goverment

Between the first choice of Classical Republic, Despotism and Oligarchy I don't understand why you should choose Classical Republic. It gives +15% production towards wonders for 10 turns. But when you are asked to make the choice you are 7-8 turns in and probably making your first granary or a scout.

Who at this time in the game is working on wonders?

You get to select between the two options presented by your chosen government every time you start a Celebration, so the wonder buff could be useful during a later celebration.

It gives the the bonus during celebrations, not when you select the government. It's helpful during the antiquity age for the wonders of the world legacy path.
